The Kremlin on Monday (Mar 3) accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of not wanting peace, blaming him for the clash with the US President Donald Trump at the White House last week.

Multiple people were injured and one person was killed in a stabbing attack, on Monday (Mar 3), in the Israeli city of Haifa, said medics.
The police described the incident as a "terror attack" whose perpetrator was "neutralised".
This was the first fatal incident that took place in the country after a truce deal came into effect in the Gaza Strip between Israel and Hamas.
The attack also comes as discussions between the warring sides stalled after completion of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal.
Medical teams "have pronounced the death of a man around 70 years old and are providing medical treatment to and evacuating four injured individuals", Israel's Magen David Adom emergency service said.
It further stated that a man and woman, aged around 30, along with a 15-year-old boy, sustained serious injuries in the attack.
Israeli police have not yet revealed details about the perpetrator in the attack.
The attack took place at a bus and train station in Haifa.

She alleged that Lambert abandoned them when their son was just a baby and fled abroad after lying that he had to escape an arrest.&nbsp;
Over 50 women, known so far, had sexual relationship with these undercover cops for up to six years - and they were unaware that the cops were spying on them and their friends. These woman shared some of the most secret and intimate facts about their lives with these undercover cops and some of them even attended weddings and funerals with them.&nbsp;

Following the defence summit in London on Sunday (Mar 2), British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a &pound;1.6 billion ($2 billion) package that would allow Ukraine to purchase 5,000 air-defence missiles using export finance.&nbsp;
Starmer said that this will allow Ukraine "to buy more than 5000 air defence missiles, which will be made in Belfast, creating jobs in our brilliant defence sector."
"This will be vital for protecting critical infrastructure now and strengthen Ukraine in securing the peace when it comes because we have to learn from the mistakes of the past. We cannot accept a weak deal like Minsk, which Russia can breach with ease," he said.

"I spoke to President Trump last night," said Starmer. According to Abdelatty, the counter-reconstruction plan by Egypt will not just be Egyptian or Arab but will attract global support and funding to ensure its successful implementation.

He added that Europe&rsquo;s role is critical, especially in economic aspects, to rebuild the war-torn region.
On the ceasefire deal, Abdelatty said that Egypt will continue its efforts to make sure the truce is maintained and negotiations for the second phase of the deal can start.
&ldquo;The first phase has concluded successfully, and now we must shift to discussions on the second phase, which is key to sustaining the ceasefire,&rdquo; he said.
&ldquo;Naturally, it will be difficult, but with goodwill and political determination, it can be achieved.&rdquo;
Abdelatty said that after the emergency Arab Summit takes place, an urgent ministerial meeting in Saudi Arabia for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will be held where foreign ministers will present the summit&rsquo;s outcomes globally.

<h2>Cairo proposes two-week extension of first truce phase</h2>
Qatari-owned newspaper Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, citing Egyptian sources, reported that Cairo has proposed to Israel and Hamas to extend the first phase of the ceasefire by two weeks. This will include the release of six Israeli hostages.
However, The Times of Israel reported that an Israeli official said he has no knowledge of such a proposal.
&ldquo;We aren&rsquo;t familiar with anything like that,&rdquo; the official told The Times of Israel.

Egypt to present Gaza reconstruction plan at Arab summit, intensify efforts for ceasefire phase two

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer hosted a crucial defence summit in London on Sunday at 14:00 GMT (7:30 PM IST), aimed at gathering support for securing a just and enduring peace in Ukraine as Russia continues the ongoing invasion.&nbsp;
Starmer will be hosting European leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who arrived in the UK on Saturday.&nbsp;
The meeting will be held in the presence of leaders from across Europe including France and Germany, T&uuml;rkiye, NATO and the European Union.&nbsp;
On Saturday, Starmer and Zelensky signed off a USD 2.8 billion loan deal to bolster Ukraine's defences against Russian attacks. Moreover, the UK PM said that the UK, France and Ukraine will draft a ceasefire plan to present to the US.

Denmark's defence committee's chair on Sunday (March 1) said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would "run naked through New York City" if that will get him security guarantees and save his country.
Rasmus Jarlov, chair of the Danish parliament Folketing&rsquo;s defence committee, stressed in an interview to Sky News how Ukraine and Europe can get back into talks with US President Donald Trump.
"I&rsquo;m pretty sure that President <a href="https://www.wionews.com/tags/zelensky" rel="dofollow">Zelensky</a> would be willing to run naked through New York City if that was required of him to get security, security guarantees and save his country," Jarlov said.

Denmark defence committee's chair further said that the US administration &ldquo;has been misled by a false narrative that Zelensky is a bad guy who is trying to exploit the US and that Europe are bad guys &hellip; and they want to show they are fed up with that.&rdquo;
He warned that any peace deal without security guarantees for Ukraine is not even worth the value of the paper that it's written on as &ldquo;Russian leaders regularly break their promises, break their treaties, break agreements.&rdquo;

"It seems that Russia already thinks that they&rsquo;re at war with the West... If you think that way, then you&rsquo;re going to attack again. And they will attack the Baltic countries, probably as the first target," he stressed.
<h2>EU countries 'not doing their part'</h2>
Jarlov called out some EU countries for not paying enough in their defence spending for Ukraine and "not doing their part".&nbsp;
"There is no comparison between the economies of Europe and Russia. It&rsquo;s like 15 times bigger. So if Europe stands up and helps Ukraine, there will only be one outcome, and that will be a Ukrainian victory," he said.
Jarlov added that if "we are hesitant like we have been so far", then the Americans are going to stop helping because they think it&rsquo;s too expensive, and then Ukraine will lose, and that "will be a very, very bad outcome for Europe."
Currently, the European leaders are holding a crucial defence summit in London, hosted by UK PM Keir Starmer.
Jarlov stressed that the EU leaders have to "stop talking, stop tweeting" and have to "start paying and they have to send the arms to Ukraine right now."

Netanyahu added that if Hamas agrees to the extensions, then Israel will immediately enter into talks.&nbsp;

Last night, the Israeli PM threatened that Israel is permitted to return to fighting in Gaza &ldquo;if it is convinced that the negotiations are ineffective,&rdquo; and that a US letter affirms this claim.

Netanyahu, while talking about Israel's decision to halt aid moving into Gaza, said that Hamas is currently taking control of all supplies and goods sent to the Gaza Strip.&nbsp;
"It is abusing the Gazan population who are trying to receive the aid, it is shooting at them and is turning humanitarian aid into a terrorist budget directed against us," he said.&nbsp;
He warned &ldquo;additional consequences&rdquo; if Hamas doesn&rsquo;t release more hostages but doesn&rsquo;t lay them out.

"Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided that, from this morning, all entry of goods and supplies into the Gaza Strip will be suspended," his office said in a statement.
"Israel will not accept a ceasefire without the release of our hostages. If Hamas persists with its refusal, there will be other consequences," the statement added.
Following Israel's announcement of Gaza aid suspension, Netanyahu's spokesman Omer Dostri wrote on X, "No trucks entered Gaza this morning, nor will they at this stage."
Far-right Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, whose party plays a key role in keeping Netanyahu's government in power, welcomed the move.
Stopping aid "until Hamas is destroyed or completely surrenders and all our hostages are freed is an important step in the right direction", he said on Telegram, calling for a renewed fight "until total victory" against Hamas.
"We have remained in government to ensure this," he added.
The proposed extension, according to the Israeli statement, would involve a two-stage hostage release. Initially, half of the hostages currently held in Gaza would be freed on the effective date of the agreement. The remaining hostages would be released upon the successful negotiation of a permanent ceasefire.

Netanyahu's "decision to suspend humanitarian aid is cheap blackmail, a war crime, and a blatant coup against the (ceasefire) agreement", the militant group said in a statement.
Hamas called on "mediators and the international community to pressure" Israel to "put an end to these punitive, immoral measures against more than two million people in the Gaza Strip".
The militant group also issued a warning to Israel stating that it will "bear responsibility" for hostages' fate.
