
Amid the India-China clash along the Line of Control(LAC), the Chinese foreign ministry in a press briefing said that to ease the border situation, India and China are in close communication diplomatically and militarily.

"China has lodged strong protest and representation with the Indian side. We would urge India not to make provocations, take unilateral action which may complicate the situation," China's foreign ministry said.

"Efforts to bring peace are on and to ease the border situation along the LAC," it said.
"We of course don't wish to see more clashes," foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said at a regular press conference.
"LAC was crossed for illegal activities and Chinese personnel were attacked resulting in provocation and casualties, we once again ask solemnly to maintain discipline," the Chinese foreign ministry added, while asserting that both sides have decided to resolve the issue through consultation.
Meanwhile, news agency ANI quoting sources said that four Indian soldiers were in critical condition after the face-off with Chinese troops along the LAC on Monday.
India reported that 20 soldiers were martyred during the clash, even as China's Global Times said there were also casualties on the Chinese side.
Amid reports of India casualties, PTI quoting US intelligence sources said that 35 soldiers had died and were injured on the Chinese side during the clash in Galwan Valley.
