Scary footage circulated on social media shows a Miami-bound Scandinavian Airlines flight experiencing severe turbulence as passengers were seen ejecting from their seats.
A video posted on X on November 15 shows food, and bags bouncing and touching the ceiling of the plane during the turbulence.
The video was posted by a passenger with the caption "Look at her feet touching the [ceiling]! Thought we would die."

After the turbulence, the flight took a U-turn.
No serious injury was reported among passengers or crew members.

According to the airline, a total of 254 passengers were on board the flight during the turbulence.
Passenger Sammy Solstad told CNN that he felt lucky to be alive after experiencing the turbulence, and that "everyone on the plane was praying and asking to just land instead of flying over the open sea."
According to the New York Post, passengers were accommodated in a hotel overnight and were booked flights by Friday morning.

Another X user shared pictures of the flight after turbulence with the caption, "SAS Flight #SK957 from Stockholm to Miami has encountered severe turbulence, prompting a diversion back to Europe. Passengers onboard experienced intense shaking, leading to items scattered across the cabin."
The photos showed food bags and carry-on bags scattered on the floor while passengers were seen sitting in fear.
