Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweets against coronavirus lockdown

TeslaCEOElon Musk has voiced his protest against coronavirus lockdown of the US economy by tweeting: "FREE AMERICA NOW".
The multibillionairelost his cool as he came close to securing a $750 million payout from a bonus scheme linked to Tesla’s share price.
Musk also tweeted "Give people their freedom back!" with a link to an article suggesting that lockdowns have not saved lives but have hit crushed local economies.
Elon Musk had praised Texas governor Greg Abbott’s plans to allow shops, restaurants and movie theatres to reopen from Friday. Though he clarified later that these amenities should be opened with "care and appropriate protection." He tweeted this a day after Tesla had to cancel their plans of reopening their electric car factory in Fremont, California on May 4 after six Bay Area counties extended the lockdown till the end of May.

Though Tesla has recovered it's slump due to coronavirus lockdown as the rebound in the shares to $769 on Tuesday, from a low of $361 on 18 March, puts Musk close to achieving a $720m payday.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Wednesday reported 1,005,147 cases of new coronavirus, an increase of 23,901 cases from its previous count, and said the number of deaths had risen by 2,247 to 57,505.
