Trump spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked to leave by a Virginia restaurant.
The eviction was confirmed by Sanders herself who tweeted, "Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave".
Sanders said she she was asked to leave "because I work for @POTUS and I politely left".
Sanders added that the owner's "actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so".
Sanders is not the first White House employee to be asked to leave.
US Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen was heckled as she dined at a Mexican restaurant in Washington on Tuesday. Protestors chanted "shame! shame!" repeatedly at Nielsen until she left.
Two days earlier, according to the New York Post, White House adviser Stephen Miller was branded a "fascist" while dining at another Mexican eatery in Washington.
Members of the Trump administration have recently come under fierce criticism for their "zero-tolerance" immigration policy which separates migrant children from families trying to enter the US illegally.
News reports quoted the owner of the Red Hen, Stephanie Wilkinson, as saying she got a phone call from her staff Friday evening.
Her staff told her Sanders had walked into the Red Hen, and asked what they should do.
Wilkinson drove down to her restaurant, and spoke with her staff.
The news reports quoted Wilkinson as saying Lexington had voted against Trump.
That a number of Red Hen employees were gay and Sanders had defended Trump's decision to bar transgender people from the military.
And that she believed Sanders worked for an “inhumane and unethical” administration.
Her staff told her they thought Sanders should be asked to leave.
Wilkinson asked Sanders to step out on to the patio.
The reports quoted Wilkinson as saying: "I'd like to ask you to leave."
The reports said Sanders' response was immediate.
"That’s fine. I’ll go," she said.
