"Be cautious!," he declared ominously.

It was Trump's most strongly worded statement against Iran yet after his administration pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal in May.

President Trump had signed an executive order to start the process of US withdrawal from the nuclear deal, a move which was criticised by other stakeholders including France and Germany.

The order allowed a 180-day time frame for the US to reimpose all sanctions against Iran which were in place before the nuclear deal came into existence in 2015.

On August 6th, when the 90-day period ends, Iran will no longer be able to buy or acquire US dollars and the Trump administration will again impose sanctions on Iran trading in gold and other metals. The US will also impose auto sanction and trade in aluminium and steel will also be under US scrutiny.

From November 4th, another trance of stringent measures will be triggered by the US administration will severely hit Iran's shipping, oil, banking, insurance and energy sector.
