The interim Prime Minister of Nepal, Sushila Karki, after taking charge said to declare those killed in the Gen-Z movement as martyr. A compensation of Rs 10 lakh each will also be provided to the kin of the victims. She also vowed to end corruption, one of the key factors behind the protests.
"We have to work according to the thinking of the Gen Z generation. ... What this group is demanding is end of corruption, good governance and economic equality," said Karki, the 73-year-old former chief justice, in her first public comments since becoming the interim Prime Minister on Friday.
Speaking further the interim PM said that she is not going to remain in the position for more than six months.

“We won't stay for more than 6 months. We will hand over the responsibility to the new parliament. We won’t succeed without your support,” said Karki.

Nepal’s former chief justice, Sushila Karki, took oath as the interim prime minister in a ceremony at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas, on Friday night and became the first woman prime minister of the country.
Karki took oath three days after former PM KP Sharma Oli resigned after massive protests, largely involving the youth rocked the nation. Nepal’s Vice President Ram Sahay Yadav and Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Rawat were also present during the swearing-in ceremony.
Nepal's parliament was dissolved just hours after Karki took oath as the interim prime minister and the interim government has been mandated to hold elections within six months.
