Liz Cheney has spoken out in response to Donald Trump's recent comments suggesting she should be shot at. The former Congresswoman criticised the ex-president, who had labelled her a “war hawk” and suggested she “should be fired upon.” Posting on X, formerly Twitter, on Friday (November 01), the 58-year-old Cheney described the Republican candidate as a “dictator.”
Trump’s comments about Cheney were made while he was campaigning in Arizona on Thursday night. He singled out Cheney, one of his most vocal Republican opponents, calling her “a radical war hawk.” He then went on to say, “Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK?” Trump made these comments at an event in Glendale, where he was interviewed by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Continuing his attack, Trump added, “Let’s see how she feels about it, you know when the guns are trained on her face.” He further attacked Cheney with terms such as “very dumb,” “stupid person,” and “moron.” Cheney, in response, stated that Trump’s words felt like a death threat.
“This is how dictators destroy free nations. They threaten those who speak against them with death. We cannot entrust our country and our freedom to a petty, vindictive, cruel, unstable man who wants to be a tyrant,” Cheney posted on X, adding the hashtags #Womenwillnotbesilenced and #VoteKamala. Her post included a clip of Trump’s statement.
Alongside his “war hawk” remark, Trump also targeted Cheney’s father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, saying, “And I don’t blame him for sticking with his daughter, but his daughter is a very dumb individual, very dumb.”
