Roy was subjected to a lie-detector test on Sunday (Aug 25) by a team of experts that had travelled to West Bengal's capital city from New Delhi. According to a report in TOI, the test yielded several false and unconvincing answers from Roy.

The publication, citing sources stated that Roy appeared unnerved and anxious during the lie-detector test. As the CBI confronted him with several pieces of evidence, he cited multiple alibis.

Roy, a serial womaniser with a serious porn addiction, claimed that he ran away from the premises in fear when he spotted the dead body of the victim.

What questions were asked?

According to sources, this test involved three types of questions: relevant, irrelevant, and control questions. Some of the questions posed to Roy were:

  • Is your name Sanjay Roy?
  • Were you in the hospital on the day of the incident?
  • Have you ever lied?
  • Did you rape the victim?
  • Did you kill the victim?
  • Is the colour of tomato red?
  • Was anyone else involved in the murder?
  • Did you flee the hospital after the murder?
  • Have you ever molested the victim before?
  • Do you watch pornographic films?
  • Did you visit a red-light area before the murder?
  • Was your Bluetooth device broken in the seminar hall?
  • Have you answered all the questions correctly?

A total of seven people in connection to the case were subjected to the lie-detector test over the course of the weekend.

CBI raids principal's home

Notably, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday also raided 15 locations, including the premises of former Kar Medical College principal Sandip Ghosh in connection to the case.

The raid on Ghosh's residence lasted over 12 hours and started late after he kept the agency officials waiting for more than 70 minutes.

After the murder-rape incident first came to light, a case alleging financial irregularities at the Kolkata hospital has been filed against Ghosh, who seemingly has close relations with the upper echelons of Trinamool Congress (TMC) -- the ruling party in the state.
