
Kellogg’s has decided to remake its Corn Pops cereal boxes afterthe United States-based food manufacturer was accused on Tuesday of being racist.
Marvel Comics’ Black Bolt series writer, Saladin Ahmed called outKelloggs on Twitter for using racially inappropriateart on Corn Pops
The box cereal boxes featured a number of corn pops shopping and walking around and a single brown corn popworking as a janitor running a floor waxer which caught the writers eye.
He further added "yes its a tiny thing, but when you see your kid staring at this over breakfast and realize millions of other kids are doing the same…"
Ahmed'stweet soon became viral and Kellogg’s repliedto within hours apologising for the mishap and confirmed that they will redesign the boxes.
After the debacle, Kris Charles, Kellogg’s spokesperson, said on Thursday thatthecompany was committed to diversity. "We take feedback very seriously, and it was never our intention to offend anyone. We apologize sincerely," he said.
