The announcement was made nearly days after the Hindu community was attacked by the pro-Khalistan supporters in a consular camp organised by the Indian consulate outside the Hindi Sabha Temple in Brampton, near Toronto.

The Hindu community protested against the attack after which Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his anger over the attack.

Taking to X, PM Modi said, "I strongly condemn the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada. Equally appalling are the cowardly attempts to intimidate our diplomats. Such acts of violence will never weaken India's resolve. We expect the Canadian government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law."

Earlier more attempts were made to disrupt such camps in Surrey and Vancouver on November 2 and 3.

Expressing his disapproval over the attack, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said, "The acts of violence at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton today are unacceptable. Every Canadian has the right to practice their faith freely and safely."

However, while speaking at the House of Commons in the Canadian Parliament, Trudeau said, “The violence we have seen in South Asian communities across the country over the past few nights, let me be very clear. The individuals who are inciting violence and division and hatred in no way represent either the Sikh community or the Hindu community in Canada."

"At the time of Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas, we are seeing communities come together to celebrate their diversity and strength; we will continue to stand for the unity of Canadians," he said.
