Trump 'a threat to democracy'

Using her campaign rally in the political swing state Pennsylvania to once again cast Trump as a threat to democracy, Harris, in a rare move, showed a clip in which Trump could be heard telling supporters "Those people are more dangerous - the enemy from within - than Russia."

Harris said the statement was evidence of Trump's instability, adding that he sees anyone who disagrees with him as the enemy.

"A second Trump term would be a huge risk for America, and dangerous. Donald Trump is increasingly unstable and unhinged," she warned.

The enemy within

In a recent interview, Trump mentioned the "enemy from within" and suggested deploying the National Guard or military to handle internal threats on Election Day, despite not having the authority to do so — only the president has the authority.

In an interview on Sunday on the Fox News program "Sunday Morning Futures," he was asked if he expected "chaos" on election day (Nov 5).

To this, he cryptically replied, "I think the bigger problem is the enemy from within".

"We have some very bad people. We have some sick people, radical left lunatics."

"It should be very easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military, because they can't let that happen," he added.

Harris pounced on this, warning voters of the risks a second Trump term would pose.

Black voters and Harris

Pennsylvania is a crucial battleground state, and Harris, as per Reuters, focused her 10th visit to the battleground state on a key voter group - Black men.

This comes as recent polls suggest some young Black voters are leaning towards Trump, raising concerns among Democrats. To appease the group, Harris has introduced new policies aimed at Black men, such as forgivable business loans up to $20,000, recreational marijuana legalisation, and access to emerging industries like cryptocurrency.
