
An Israeli airstrike on the Bureij refugee camp and Maghazi refugee camp in Gaza resulted in 15 deaths, including 13-year-old Rafeef Alsaidi and the elderly Abdelshafi Hussein. These attacks have continued unabated as Israel’s Defence Minister Yoav Gallant pledged the war will go on.
“At the border of the Gaza Strip, together with the desert patrol battalion, [Israeli forces] continue to fight… and are sent to appropriate missions in every sector in the air, at sea and on land,” Gallant stated.
EU’s top diplomat Josep Borrell has warned of the increasing threat posed by Houthi militia attacks on commercial vessels off Yemen. “The Houthis keep threatening freedom of navigation in the #RedSea,” Borrell posted on X.
The EU military operation in the region, EUNAVFOR ASPIDES, the EU chief said, is committed to keeping international waters safe.

In response to the ongoing conflict, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that the Islamic world is observing Eid al-Adha with sadness due to Israel's actions in Gaza.

Meanwhile, the UN has welcomed Israel’s “tactical pause” in military operations along a southern Gaza aid corridor but urged further measures to ensure humanitarian aid reaches the besieged population.
The Israeli government has thrown its support behind a draft bill to raise the retirement age for IDF reservists. This legislative move comes at a time when the nation is deeply embroiled in the ongoing conflict with Hamas in Gaza, a war that has already claimed the lives of at least 37,296 people, mostly civilians, according to Gaza's health ministry.
The Ministerial Committee for Legislation has approved a three-month extension, but the bill must still pass three readings in the Knesset to become law.

Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid criticised the government, stating, “The reservists and taxpayers are collapsing and Netanyahu and the extremists put the burden on them and continue to evade responsibility and smile."
Meanwhile, Israel’s High Court has issued an interim order to suspend State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman’s investigation into the failings of the October 7 attackpending a July hearing. This suspension comes after classified responses from security agencies.
