In a move to attract young voters of the US, the Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump appeared on a nearly three-hour-long podcast of star podcaster Joe Rogan on Friday (Oct 25) where he shared his views on election polls, income tax and life on Mars.

Democrats 'cheat' in 2020 election

Giving Trump an opportunity to repeat his claims of election fraud in 2020, Rogan said, "I want to talk about 2020 because you said over and over again that you were robbed in 2020. How do you think you were robbed?"

In response, Trump said that the judges "did not have what it took to turn over an election. The former US president was seen repeating his claims that mail-in ballots were not safe and the Democrats used the global pandemic to "cheat" in 2020 US elections.

Rogan compared Trump's questioning of the 2020 election with COVID-19 as the American podcaster said that Trump gets "labelled" an election denier just like a person gets labelled as an anti-vaxxer after raising questions about the drawbacks of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Tariffs replacing income tax

Trump also shared his support to remove federal income tax as Rogan asked if he was serious about replacing income taxes with tariffs to which the Republican said, "Why not?"

Trump's economic policies have been highly criticised by various economists with most of them saying his economic policies will cost around $15 trillion to the US and will lead the country towards the federal deficit.

Is there life on Mars?

In addition to his claims on election fraud,Trump also shared his distrust on election polls.

"You know how polls are done?" Trump asked Rogan as the Republican said, "Oh, I’m going to get myself in trouble. So I don’t believe too much in them.”

Apart from discussing his political views, Trump tried impressing the young audience, especially males, of Rogan's podcast as he shared his thoughts on the idea of life on Mars.

Trump said he had "never been a believer" in extraterrestrial life but after listening to Rogan's interviews with jet pilots who claimed seeing "strange things" in the sky, he can't deny it.

"There’s no reason not to think that Mars and all these planets don’t have life,” she said.

Rogan's 'changed' views on trump

Joe Rogan has more than 14.5 million followers on Spotify and 17.6 million on YouTube with many of them being low-propensity voters. Trump's campaign tried drawing them to the polls via this podcast.

Just two years ago in 2022, Rogan had refused to inviteTrump on his podcast saying the former president is a "threat to democracy."

But, Rogan claimed, after watching Trump's assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, he rethought his decision.

“Once they shot you, I was like, ‘He’s got to come in here,’” Rogan said.
