Four United States university tutors have been hospitalised after an unknown assailant stabbed them at a public park in China.
The Iowa Cornell College instructors suffered injuries in a "serious incident" when they were visiting a park in the daytime in Jilin province, northern China, said the college, in a statement.
Iowa Representative Adam Zabner confirmed that his brother David was one of the four victims of the stabbing incident. He stated that the group was visiting a local temple when a man with a knife attacked them on Monday (June 10).
Zabner added that the assailant stabbed his brother in the arm at Beishan Park and he has been recovering in hospital.

"He has not yet been released this morning but he's doing ok," he said, while speaking to CBS News.
Cornell College added that the four instructors were teaching "as part of a partnership with a university in China".
A member of Beihua University was accompanying the group when they were visiting the park.
The four instructors had gone to China on an academic exchange. Taking to X, Iowa Congresswoman Ashley Hinson said that she was "horrified" to learn that the Cornell College faculty members had been "brutally stabbed".
“My team has been in communication with Cornell College and will do everything in our power to bring these Iowans home safely. Join me in praying for their health and safety," Hinson said.

Governor Kim Reynolds stated that he was "in touch with Iowa's federal delegation and the state department in response to this horrifying attack".
"Please pray for their full recovery, safe returnand their families here at home," she said.
A US State Department spokesperson confirmed that they were "aware of reports of astabbingincident in Jilin, People's Republic of China".
Iowa Cornell College's President Jonathan Brand said, “We have been in contact with all four instructors and are assisting them during this time."
