Trump's defeated Republican rivals unite at Convention
Nikki Haley endorsed Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention (RNC) on Tuesday (July 16) as the party seeks to promote unity and attract voters beyond Biden's base.
"I'll start by making one thing perfectly clear," Haley said. "Donald Trump has my strong endorsement."
Earlier, when Haley dropped out of the primary race against Trump in March, she refused to endorse him, stating he needed to earn the votes of the people who did not support him.
However, in May, she said she would vote for him, despite her strong criticism of him throughout the campaign.
The former Rival said, Trump asked her to speak at the convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, "in the name of unity."

"It was a gracious invitation, and I was happy to accept it," Haley said.
To attract voters to the Republican Party, she emphasised the importance of acknowledging that there are Americans who don't always agree with the former president.
"My message to them is quite simple. You don't have to agree with Trump 100% of the time to vote for him. Take it from me," Haley said.
She also mentioned that US is at a critical moment and for the country's sake, "we have to go with Donald Trump."
"Americans were well served by his presidency, even if they didn't agree with them on all things," she said.
"Now to my fellow Republicans, we must not only be a united party, we must also expand our party. We are so much better when we are bigger. We are stronger when we welcome people into our party who have different backgrounds and experiences," Haley added.
Republicans are aiming to capitalise on a surge of support during the convention, following an assassination attempt on Trump this past Saturday.
Donald Trump arrived in the convention arena shortly before the speeches of Haley and some of his other former rivals, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis urged Americans to stand with the former president Donald Trump.
“Donald Trump, he’s been demonized. He’s been sued. He’s been prosecuted. And he nearly lost his life. We cannot let him down, and we cannot let America down,” DeSantis said.
“I am alarmed that the current president of the United States lacks the capability to discharge the duties of his office,” he added.
“Let’s be honest here. Biden is just a figurehead. He’s a tool for imposing the leftist agenda on the American people,” DeSantis further said.
