Biden's pet German Shepherd kept attacking security personnel right in front of him: Report

United States President Joe Biden continued to watch the Secret Service members getting attacked by his German shepherd Commander as the latter wished each other a "safe shift".

According to a report published in The New York Post, the Secret Service members have been finding it difficult to work with President Biden and there have been safety concerns in their workplace due to the president's dog Commander.

His ferocious dog has been repeatedly biting and attacking people amid safety professionals appealing to use a muzzle.

A number of USSS personnel said that the dog attacked people when he was walking with Biden and that the president witnessed the incidents first-hand.

The staff shared other emails in which it was suggested that a muzzle be purchased by the First Family forthe German Shepherd.

"TMZ just reported a dog bite at the White House! Can we please find a way to get this dog muzzled?" said personnel, who was from the US Secret Service Safety, Health & Environment Division, in an email.

Secret Servicemember shares horrific encounter with Biden's dog

Sharing his horrific encounter with Commander which took place on September 13, 2023, one Secret Servicemember said that Biden had taken his dog for an evening walk to the Kennedy Garden.

"As I started to walk toward him to see if he needed help, Commander ran through his legs and bit my left arm through the front of my jacket," wrote the USSS agent.

"I pulled my arm away and yelled, ‘No’. POTUS also yelled [redacted] to Commander. POTUS then [redacted]. I obliged and Commander let me pet him," he added.

"When turning to close the door, Commander jumped again and bit my left arm for the second time. POTUS again yelled at Commander and attached the leash to him. My suit coat has 3 holes,1 being all the way through. No skin was broken," he said.

In another correspondence, a sergeant wrote in an email that, "there was a dog bite and the officer may need to go to the hospital."

Chief of Communications for the United States Secret Service, Anthony Guglielmi also wrote an email correspondence regarding an interaction with the Commander.

"Yesterday, around 8 pm, a Secret Service Uniformed Division police officer came in contact with a First Family pet and was bitten. The officer was treated by medical personnel on complex, and I am not aware of any hospitalisation," he said.

In the latest batch of internal agency records, there has been mounting frustration over the way the animals are being handled.
