A 'DALI' freight ship stacked high with containers smashed into Baltimore's Key Bridge while sailing out of Baltimore early on Tuesday (March 26). The collapse immediately sent cars and people into the river below.
Rescuers later pulled out two survivors, one of whom was hospitalised. The authorities were searching for more survivors in the Patapsco River at the time of filing this report.
Huge metal spans of 1.6 mile long Francis Scott Key Bridge got submerged into the icy water at around 1:30 am (local time).

"By being able to stop cars from coming over the bridge, these people are heroes. They saved lives last night," he said.
