New York
A New York appeals court judge Tuesday has denied Donald Trump’s request to delay the start of his New York hush money trial so he can challenge the gag order imposed by Judge Juan Merchan.
Associate Justice Cynthia Kern of New York denied the application for an interim stay shortly after hearing arguments on the issue on Tuesday.
While a full appeals court panel will continue to review Trump's petition, the trial's start will not be delayed as a result.
Trump's lawyer wanted to postpone the trial until a full panel of appellate court judges could consider arguments regarding the lifting or modification of a gag order preventing him from publicly discussing jurors, witnesses, and other individuals linked to the hush-money case.
