South Korea mulls deploying military assets to Strait of Hormuz

South Korea is considering whether to support a U.S.-led effort aimed at securing the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important energy chokepoints. While Seoul says no final decision has been made, military options reportedly include deploying patrol aircraft and a support vessel. If approved, it would mark South Korea's first major maritime security mission in the region since 2009.
