Elite traveler goes bonkers at seeing economy passenger use first-class lavatory

A United Airlines 1K member got livid when an economy-class passenger came up to use the first-class lavatory. The pilot of the flight recounted the incident to FlyerTalk. He said that the 1K passenger had an "absolute meltdown when a passenger from row 10 dared to use the first-class lavatory."
The drink cart was blocking the way to the rear bathroom and so the woman had no choice but to use the first-class bathroom. A passenger there went crazy when he saw her and told her to wait for the way to her lavatory to clear.
The captain recalls that while he tried to stay out of the ruckus, the 1K passenger told him to remind the woman that she was not allowed there. However, the captain decided to give the passenger a piece of his mind and told him "When you gotta go, you gotta go". At that moment the aisle to the rear lavatory was blocked because of the cart.
The self-entitled man was in no mood to accept the logic, at which point the captain said he politely told him "that while the airline appreciates his business, the aircraft was owned by United Airlines, and not him."
He says the passenger from the economy class "looked like a deer in headlights".

Can economy passengers use first-class lavatory?
The rules differ for airlines and jurisdictions. The captain of the United flight noted that the airline doesn't have any such rule regarding the use of a specific toilet on the airplane based on your seat. However, it once used to be but the rule was loosened several years ago keeping such situations in mind.
Meanwhile, a coach passenger was once arrested for using a business-class lavatory on a flight from Vienna to Abu Dhabi.
On any US domestic flight, one should use the lavatory in their own ticketed cabin first. However, if a drink cart is blocking the way on a single-aisle aircraft, the passenger can use the closest toilet. The best way is to check with a crew member.
What is 1K on United Airlines?
At the airline, 1K is the top published elite tier. It was named so years back and the way to earn it was to fly 100,000 miles in a year. At the time, computers only allowed two characters to designate the level.
Next comes Premier Executive, designated as "1P", Premier as "2P" and "Premier Emeritus" which was "3P."
