Struggling to cope with the pain while batting, Shakib left for hospital for scans upon finishing his quota of ten overs in the second innings.

As per the latest report, an unnamed Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official provided an update on Shakib’s fitness, saying he is unsure of his availability for the India game.&nbsp;

"I am not sure whether he is available for the next game or not, but there is certainly some doubt since he has sustained a slight tear," a BCB official said on Saturday, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

“It felt good. Usually, you try to analyse the wicket as soon as possible. We realised the wicket was on the slower side so we wanted to bowl hard lengths. We were trying to make it as difficult as possible,” Bumrah added.

Other than outfoxing Rizwan with a beauty of a delivery, Bumrah bowled a peach to Shadab Khan, who played the wrong line, to clean bowl him. On 1st March 2003, India and Pakistan locked horns at the historic Centurion ground in South Africa with Sourav Ganguly and Waqar Younis leading the respective sides. It was the Pakistan skipper who won the toss and elected to bat first as India held an unprecedented record of winning while batting first. The former was dismissed on 21 but took the attack to the opposition while Tendulkar was the architect of India’s dominance with the bat. He hit Shoaib Akhtar for a six over the third man that captured the attention of the world. It is still one of the iconic moments in the history of the World Cup.

However, Tendulkar’s dominance with the bat came to an end when a Shoaib Akhtar delivery surprised him and he was caught off guard on 98. He missed out on a hundred but did his job for the Men in Blue. He along with Mohammed Kaif (35) put on 102 runs for the third wicket while skipper Ganguly was dismissed for a golden duck. Later Rahul Dravid (44) and Yuvraj Singh (50) helped the Indian team to win as they celebrated a famous win. Dravid scored the winning four and was excellent throughout the tournament.

"The body language on the field is quite flat at the moment from Australia," Finch told ESPNcricinfo's Match Day show.&nbsp;

"Even with the ball, they are a bit standoffish, they are waiting for things to happen, and that can become contagious among the group as well.

"The last thing you want to do is start the tournament poorly because there's no way to get yourself back into it. It's been a tough start…two games where you say if we break even, win one lose one, we are okay with that, then it's a bit of a softer run home compared especially with India first up,” Finch noted.

Unlike before, Australia’s road to the World Cup had many obstacles, with the team first losing to South Africa (3-2) despite leading 2-0 at one stage.

The Pat Cummins-led side then lost the ODI series against India and entered the World Cup with five losses from six matches.&nbsp;

Finch added that playing so many games in the lead-up to the World Cup, including two practice matches and with management also wanting players to remain fit throughout, took a toll and reflected on their performances.

"The tone was set early on, and it hasn't recovered yet. They need a way to freshen up, mentally and physically, because it's been a gruelling lead-up with five ODIs in South Africa, three T20s, coming to India and playing three ODIs then two warm-up matches when they only had 11 fit players. One-day cricket, physically, takes quite a bit out of you,” Finch added.

<h2>Finch backs Inglis’ selection</h2>

What raised eyebrows against South Africa was the shock selection of Josh Inglis ahead of regular Alex Carey. When asked to explain this, Finch said he was not surprised by this call, claiming Carey’s form in ODIs heading into the CWC was a worry anyway.&nbsp;

"Don't think there's any panic," Finch said. "If you look at the stats, Alex Carey's last 10 games, [there are] seven scores under 10. It just looks like he's been a little bit frantic when he's got the crease, there hasn't been a real pattern to the way he's gone about his innings.

"Think going into the warm-up games they were still confident he could come good, then to miss out in the first game to [Ravindra] Jadeja, a decent ball around the wicket, but you should be able to keep that out at least. It's a harsh selection, but there is some justification behind it,” the former Australia captain added.

Having been sidelined for close to six months since suffering the horrific-looking injury, Kane said he enjoys the prospect of returning to the white-ball cricket after a long hiatus.

"It certainly started with strength and range in terms of the knee, and then gradually trying to improve that and control a bit.

"And so, yeah, I mean each week throughout the last period of time since I've been, I guess, rehabbing has been really important and really valuable.

So, it was nice to get a little bit of that time in the last week or two, and like I say, I look forward to tomorrow as a side,” Kane added.

Commenting on the prospect of winning back-to-back World Cups, Woakes admitted the subcontinent sides feel more at home playing in India than the ones from other continents.&nbsp;

Woakes added with each passing game, the competition would get tough for each team, but England would take one game at a time and peak as the tournament progressed, something Woakes, in particular, has done quite a few times in the past.

"It's an incredibly tough challenge to win in India. Naturally, I think the sub-continental teams will feel more at home with the conditions," Woakes said, as quoted by Sky Sports.

"That makes it extremely hard for us to knock them off their perch, so to speak. But we've got the squad and the players to be able to compete. People have looked at us for a while, and we've had a little bit of a target on our back as a white-ball team, around the world.

"It's a tough competition to win, isn't it? Especially here. But we'll give it a good crack. We're taking it each game as it comes. Naturally, people have got expectations of us, and we've certainly got our own expectations of ourselves,” the right-handed seamer added.

<h2>‘Would’ve liked to bowl a bit better’</h2>

Having gone wicketless in the World Cup opener against New Zealand, conceding 45 runs from six overs, Woakes returned to his best against Bangladesh, picking two wickets, including those of Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.&nbsp;

Aware of his below-par show so far in this tournament, Woakes admits he should have bowled better.&nbsp;

However, with him liking to peak at the right time, the veteran seamer is sure of contributing with more wickets.

"It's the start of a long tournament," Woakes said. "I certainly feel that I would've liked to have bowled a little bit better, but they are long competitions, and you don't want to peak too soon, I suppose.

"I have built into tournaments in the past and into series, which I suppose holds me in good stead moving forward. But you contribute every time you go out in the field, so I'll be working hard in practice to try and make sure that I'm on the money when I get the opportunity,” he added.

Meanwhile, England’s next game is against Afghanistan on Sunday (Oct 15) in Delhi.

Indian and Pakistan cricket teams received a warm welcome upon their arrival, videos of which are floating on social media.

Pakistan Cricket first uploaded the whole video of the team landing in Ahmedabad for their clash against India. BCCI, the Indian body, also shared a small video of the hosts landing and receiving a warm welcome.

In the video shared by Pakistan Cricket, players cheer among themselves while boarding the flight from Hyderabad to Ahmedabad. Besides, a surprise in-flight cake-cutting ceremony also took place, celebrating Pakistan’s record-breaking chase against Sri Lanka in their previous match.&nbsp;

Upon landing, the Pakistan Team was escorted towards their hotel, where the staff welcomed them with open arms, throwing flower petals. It was a similar kind of welcome they received in Hyderabad.
