<p>South Africa seamer Marco Jansen had an outing to remember forever in Mumbai as he helped South Africa floor defending champions England by 229 runs at Wankhede in Mumbai. Registering his best ODI score of 75* off 42 balls alongside picking two wickets for 35 runs, the lanky all-rounder was the architect of a massive win for Proteas in the World Cup 2023 clash.</p>

<p>Electing to bowl first after winning the toss, England got the dangerous fish in Quinton de Kock on the second ball caught behind. <p>"Players’ stats go up on the board as you walk out to bat. When they announce the umpires, I’d love to see their stats come up on the board as well. The NRL does it. I think the NFL does it," said Warner.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Australian opener said it was about knowing beforehand which umpires gave the 50-50 decisions.&nbsp;</p>

They were reduced to 97/4 before reaching the triple-figure mark with Rahmanullah Gurbaz (11), Ibrahim Zadran (14), and skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi (8) all returning to the pavilion for the wholesome score. Rahmat Shah (36) was the top scorer but did not get the required support as Afghanistan lost their way in the chase.</p>

<p>Azmatullah Omarzai’s 27 did show some resilience, but the minnows were never in the contest and were bundled out for&nbsp;139 in 34.4 overs. <p>Former Indian pacer S Sreesanth has hit back at Mickey Arthur after the latter made some audacious claims, despite being humbled by the men-in-blue in the World Cup encounter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After the loss, Arthur, Pakistan&nbsp;men's cricket team's technical director admitted that he is still looking forward to taking on the tournament hosts in the summit clash.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Mickey Arthur said we’ll meet in the final. I don’t think Pakistan can ever beat India in an ICC trophy or in any other event considering the team they have. Even our C team can beat Pakistan’s main XI. Make an IPL XI of players who are not playing, even they can defeat the Pakistan team,” said Sreesanth.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Pakistan cannot even dream of playing in such a big stadium. We gave them a chance, but if you play like that, you won’t get such chances again,” Sreesanth added.</p>

<p>Ever since suffering the loss against India, Arthur has issued a slew of excuses to hide the dismal performance of the Pakistan team. He said the World Cup in India felt more like a BCCI event than an ICC event.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It didn't seem like an ICC event to be brutally honest. It seemed like a bilateral series; it seemed like a BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) event," said Arthur.</p>

<p>Arthur also accused the Narendra Modi Stadium's public address system organisers of favouring India by refusing to play "Dil Dil Pakistan", the nation's unofficial anthem.</p>

<p>"I didn't hear 'Dil Dil Pakistan' ('My heart is Pakistan') coming through too often tonight. So yes, that does play a role, but I'm not going to use that as an excuse."</p>

<p>India belted Pakistan by seven wickets in the match after the bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav, outfoxed the opposition batters. In the end, India maintained their perfect World Cup record against the arch-rivals, extending it to eight wins in as many games.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik has suggested that Babar Azam give up his captaincy duties after the team suffered a humiliating loss against India in the World Cup.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Malik, a former Pakistan skipper reasoned that since Babar did not think outside the box, he did not fit the mould of a captain.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I gave an opinion in the past as well that Babar Azam should leave captaincy. This is my personal opinion. Babar does not think out of the box as a captain. He is doing captaincy, but the improvement is not coming. He can do wonders for Pakistan as a player," said Malik.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Shaheen Afridi should become captain in white ball cricket in case Babar Azam resigns," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, Malik's comments did not go down well with Mohammed Yousuf who said even Imran Khan was given three chances to bring the World Cup trophy home.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Imran Khan captained in 1983 and 1987 and lost both times before winning on his third attempt in 1992. Any good player should be allowed to continue as a captain for a long time. He is the captain because he has the ability,” said Yousuf.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"If I was in Babar’s place, or those people who guide him, they should tell him that Babar should quit captaincy. And focus just as a player. Pakistan team will also benefit from this,” said Malik.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With the sword dangling over his captaincy, Babar, however, appears confident and says his captaincy tenure will not be decided by one match.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I never worry, that because of this match, I will lose my captaincy. Whatever God has written for me – I will get it. I will get what I deserve. I didn't get the captaincy because of one match and I will not lose it because of one match," Babar said.</p>

<p>Pakistan suffered a morale-downing defeat against arch-rivals India last week wherein Babar and wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan were called out for batting timidly when the Men-in-Green were in an advantageous position.&nbsp;</p>
