<p>"I'm fully determined that we can turn this around. I've got great faith in Jos: he's hurting now, and he'll be feeling like there's a lot on him. I certainly feel like I could have done things a lot better. But I've been in the job for 18 months: we've won a World Cup and lost a World Cup. I think I've shown the capability that I can coach this team,” he added.</p>

<p>New Zealand opener Devon Conway was left disappointed after Australian fielder Mitchell Starc pulled off a blinder in the park to send him back to the pavilion. Chasing a steep target of 399 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, New Zealand were off to a flyer, courtesy of Conway and Will Young, before Josh Hazlewood struck.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It was during the eighth over of the innings when New Zealand had already plundered 61 runs that Conway&nbsp;attempted to go after Hazlewood who dug in a short one on middle and leg. The Kiwi batter swivelled and pulled the ball behind square. However, Australian captain Pat Cummins, who had seemingly done his homework, stationed Starc at a widish short fine leg where he leapt to his right and took a stunning catch.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The catch put brakes on the NZ scoring rate and in the very next over of&nbsp;Hazlewood, Young departed as well, gifting a straightforward catch to Starc this time.&nbsp;</p>

As the Indian chase was underway, a thick blanket of fog started descending upon the stadium after the 11th over.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Initially, the fog wasn't as thick to halt the proceedings as both teams continued to play. However, during the 16th over, bowled by pacer Lockie Ferguson, umpires decided that conditions were dangerous for the play to continue.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Images and videos going viral on social media showed the stadium completely engulfed by the fog which resulted in reduced visibility. As the umpires suggested that the play be halted, New Zealand players showed visible disappointment as the game was finely in the balance.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The commentators on air said&nbsp;that the players would not come back on the field till the conditions improved. According to the Duckworth-Lewis system, mostly employed in case of rain-induced stoppages, the overs were set to be reduced if the match did not start before 8:36 PM IST.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>During England's fourth league match against South Africa on Saturday (Oct 21), Topley bowled a length ball to&nbsp;South Africa batter Rassie van der Dussen who dispatched it powerfully to him. Attempting to stop the ball, Topley got hit on the fingers and had to walk back to the pavilion to nurse the injury.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Although Topley returned to bowl and even picked up three wickets, doubts remained over his long-time availability in the tournament. He did not come to bat as England succumbed to a 229-run defeat.&nbsp;</p>

<p>ECB released a statement and said Topley had fractured his 'left index finger' and that a replacement will be announced soon.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"England and Surrey seamer Reece Topley has been ruled out of the rest of the ICC Men’s World Cup after fracturing his left index finger during England’s defeat to South Africa on Saturday," read the statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Heinrich Klaasen was the star batter for South Africa the other day in Mumbai, slamming England bowlers, mainly Mark Wood, left, right and centre. The right-handed batter smoked a 61-ball hundred at the Wankhede Stadium - the second-fastest in Proteas World Cup history.</p>

<p>Klaasen, perhaps the best number-five batter in the world, was at his destructive best against England. His one-on-one battle with speedy Wood was the highlight of the inning. While Klaasen belted Wood with clean hitting, the England pacer troubled him with two deadly Yorkers, one that put Klaasen down.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Moments later, he hit Wood off for a four on the leg side to complete his maiden World Cup 2023 hundred and celebrated in his face right away.</p>

And yeah, once again, I’m sorry for him and to the English boys, but it’s pure emotion that just came out, and sometimes it’s difficult to control.”</p>

<p>“But I did apologise straight away and spoke to him after the game, and hopefully, from my side, everything is sorted,” he added.</p>

<p>Commenting on the same, England captain Jos Buttler shared his views, saying Klaasen’s outburst is understandable, but he didn’t have to celebrate the way he did. Buttler also acknowledged what transpired after that, with Klaasen realising what he did was wrong and apologised to Wood straightaway.</p>
