After Tom Cruise 'yells' on 'Mission: Impossible 7' set, five crew members quit

Tom Cruise created headlines on Wednesday when a leaked audio clip of the actor yelling at crew members on the sets of 'Mission Impossible 7' leaked online. Cruise was reportedly angry at the crew members for not adhering to coronavirus guide lines related to social distancing.

A day later, Hollywood actor-filmmaker George Clooney has reacted to the viral clip and spoken in favour of Cruise.

In audio released by a news network, a voice that sounds like that of Tom Cruise, who also serves as producer on ‘Mission Impossible’ films, shouts at unit at Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden after "he flew into a rage after spotting two of the crew standing within two metres of each other."

In the audio, he can be heard screaming, "If I see you doing it again, you're f**king gone."

Clooney feels Cruise did not overreact. "He didn’t overreact, because it is a problem," Clooney told Howard Stern on the radio personality’s SiriusXM show.

"I have a friend who’s an AD on another TV show who just had the almost exact same thing happen with not quite as far out a response."

The actor, however, admits he would have reacted differently.

"I wouldn’t have done it that big. I wouldn’t have, you know, pulled people out," admitted Clooney. "You’re in a position of power and it’s tricky, right? You do have a responsibility for everybody else and he’s absolutely right about that. And, you know, if the production goes down, a lot of people lose their jobs. People have to understand that and have to be responsible. It’s just not my style to take everybody to task that way.

Clooney though maintained that Cruise's reaction seem genuine but he was not aware of the exact details that transpired on the sets and hence would not give a judgement on it.

"I think it doesn’t help necessarily to point to specific people in that way and do it that…but, you know, everybody has their own style. The people who were on that shoot will tell us more about it," Clooney said. "I understand why he did it. He’s not wrong at all about that. You know, I just, I don’t know that I would have done it quite that personally, but I don’t know all the circumstances so maybe he had it 10 or 15 times before."

Years after parting ways from actor Tom Crusie, Australian actress Nicole Kidman recently opened up about their 11 years of 'happy marriage'.

The former couple were considered Hollywood royalty back in the day. Kidman who has always refrained from commenting about her marriage to Crusie opened up recently about the couple's time while shooting for Stanley Kubrick's 'Eyes Wide Shut'.

In an interview to The New York Times Magazine, the actress was asked to draw parallels to her personal married life to Cruise to that of the film's plot which revolved around a married couple dealing with infedility.

"If you`re acting those scenes with the person to whom you`re married and doing it as part of this immersive process, can it open up negative feelings that later you maybe wish you hadn`t opened?," the interviewer asked Kidman.

"That fits the narrative that people came up with, but I definitely didn`t see it like that," Kidman responded and added, "We were happily married through that. We would go go-kart racing after those scenes. We`d rent out a place and go racing at 3 in the morning. I don`t know what else to say. Maybe I don`t have the ability to look back and dissect it. Or I`m not willing to."

'Eyes Wide Shut,' which was Kubrick`s final film, notched a Guinness record for a longest constant film shoot - 400 days - by the time it wrapped.

Less than two years later, when Cruise who is now 58-year-old filed for divorce from Kidman in January 2001, fans pored over the film for insights into the couple`s relationship with each other and Kubrick.

Kidman said the film took two years of their time but they "loved working with him.We shot that for two years. We had two kids and were living in a trailer on the lot primarily, making spaghetti because Stanley liked to eat with us sometimes. We were working with the greatest filmmaker and learning about our lives and enjoying our lives on set."
We would say, `When is it going to end?` We went over there thinking it was going to be three months. It turned into a year, a year and a half," she acknowledged.

Kidman went on to marry musician Keith Urban and shares two daughters with him. Cruise married Katie Holmes and has a daughter with her. Cruise and Holmes split in 2012.

Universal Studios will back Tom Cruise space-set action adventure with $200 Million

In a rather shocking revelation, ‘Mission: Impossible 2’ actress Thandie Newton has opened up about her filming experience with the film’s lead actor, Tom Cruise and it’s not very pleasant.

Actress Thandie Newton worked with Tom Cruise in the film that became a massive hit but she revealed she felt very “insecure” on the sets of the film. “I was so scared of Tom,” she told Vulture.

When Thandie Newton and Tom Cruise were shooting for a scene together and it wasn’t going well as the lines weren’t very good, it made Tom Cruise very angry. Thandi narrated, “So this scene was happening, and Tom was not happy with what I was doing because I had the sh**tiest lines,” she said, adding that the director was unavailable for support because he didn’t speak English.

At one point, she narrated that Tom Cruise got “so frustrated” that he proposed they switch roles, and that she play his character and he’d play hers. “And it was the most unhelpful … I can’t think of anything less revealing. It just pushed me further into a place of terror and insecurity. It was a real shame. And bless him. And I really do mean bless him, because he was trying his damnedest.”

As the day came to an end, she called filmmaker Jonathan Demme and told him how terrible the experience had been. “Jonathan was like, ‘Thandie, shame on you for not backing yourself.’ He was really sweet,” she said.

Tom then gave her a phone call and said, “We’re going to reshoot this next week” while she thought that he would apologise. She added, “And the next time we shot it, I went in there and I just basically manifested all the — because I realized what he wanted. He just wanted this alpha b*tch. And I did as best as I could. This is how Tom Cruise beat the UK's quarantine rule

Not every film production is ready to roll yet even though lockdown restrictions have eased throughout the world.
After the British Film Commission recently released safety protocols, first assistant director of ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ Tommy Gormley spoke to BBC and said he was “convinced” that the Tom Cruise franchise can back to work again in the next three months. The film is expected to be wrapped by May 2021.

He was quoted, “We hope to start shooting again in September. We were days from shooting in Venice — we were right at the epicenter when it all kicked off — so we had to shut down in Venice where we were four or five days from shooting.”

“We hope to visit all the countries we planned to and look to do a big chunk of it back in the UK on the backlot and in the studio, so September through to end April/May is our targets. We are convinced we can do this. We have to get back to work for every person in the film industry, tens of thousands of us, we have to get back to work. We have to do it safely and protect our colleagues, but it is definitely possible and we’re working flat out to make it happen,” Gormley added.

Tom Cruise to shoot a film in space with Elon Musk and NASA?

It was a bad day we think for Tom Cruise when he was told to share a room with a co-star. As he started filming ‘The Outsiders’, the Hollywood star, we are told, had a major let down when he was told about sharing his on site hotel room.

According to Fox News, actor Rob Lowe made the revelation when he recently appeared on Dax Shepard's podcast Armchair Expert, where he opened up about working on the 1983 coming-of-age drama. Rob Lowe starred as one of the Greasers, Sodapop Curtis while Tom Cruise played Steve Randle.

Rob Lowe said in the podcast that Tom Cruise couldn't keep it together upon learning he would be bunking with Lowe while filming the movie.

"All of the LA people survived the LA auditions, and then the hand-picked people had to go to New York to face the New York version. So it was me and Tom Cruise and Emilio [Estevez] and C Thomas Howell,” he said.

"[It was the] first time I ever stayed at The Plaza Hotel, and we check-in, and Tom finds out that we're sharing a room and just goes ballistic."

Ron also revealed that the ‘Mission Impossible’ star did his own stunts early on his career. "He ended up being the only one who could do a backflip. It is in the movie The Outsiders for no reason. He runs out of the house and does a backflip for no reason. Just to do it,” he said.

Rob also praised Tom for his work in the film. He said, "I remember going, 'Wow, this guy is the real deal. I mean it made me laugh, it was gnarly. But in the end of it, you can't argue with the results. He's had his eye on the ball since day one."

The film was directed by ‘The Godfather’ filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola.

It had an ensemble cast, including Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio, and Emilio Estevez.

After signing the original version of the tune, Bieber and Corden gave it their own twist and added a faster beat. this clip of @justinbieber singing "smelly cat" is - and I cannot stress this enough - a masterpiece. #LateLateBieber pic.twitter.com/CryvEkGIXP — The Late Late Show with James Corden (@latelateshow) February 19, 2020 × The singer kicked off the car ride by singing 'I Don't Care'- a song which he sang with Ed Sheeran. During the segment, Bieber also spoke about his decision to challenge Tom Cruise to fight on Twitter last year. "I was just being stupid," said Bieber. "Then people were like, 'Yeah, I want to see this happen.' And I was like, 'You know what? That could actually be funny.' I would've done it." James asks the hard hitting questions...like why @JustinBieber challenged @TomCruise to a fight. #LateLateBieber pic.twitter.com/WAyY60hN9B — The Late Late Show with James Corden (@latelateshow) February 19, 2020 × When Corden admitted that he would take the 'Top Gun'actor's side if Bieber and him ever fought, the singer said, "there's absolutely no way" that the actor could beat him because "he's not the guy you see in movies." The singer also opened up about his decision to sing 'One Less Lonely Girl' for wife Hailey Baldwin at their wedding. Corden explained that the singer used to pick someone from the audience whenever he would perform the song in his earlier tours, and Bieber would always end the performance by giving a rose to the fan. So it made sense to sing it for the love of his life on their wedding day.
