All eyes were on Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony that took place in Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday afternoon. The two Bollywood stars, along with fellow winner Vikrant Massey, were seated together. Cameras hovered around them throughout the ceremony, capturing moments of the trio chatting and watching other winners take home the coveted award. A moment of the three wearing their medals soon after receiving them has been doing the rounds on the internet. What caught everyone’s attention was how Rani helped SRK detangle his medal and wear it properly around his neck, and soon broke into a smile together. Rani Mukerji helps Shah Rukh Khan The video, which is very school-children-coded, has Vikrant first handing over SRK his medal. As Vikrant and Rani wear their respective medals, SRK seem to be struggling to detangle his medal. Rani, being a good friend, helps him out and puts the medal around his neck. She then offers him her phone’s front camera to see if the medal is sitting well around his neck.

<p>Aamir Khan’s latest comment on Shah Rukh Khan’s film <i>Swades</i> has left the internet divided. Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, <i>Swades</i> released in 2004 and had SRK playing Mohan Bhargav, a NASA scientist whose visit to his ancestral home in India, changes his perspective and helps him bring change to his native place. The film is considered one of the best films in SRK’s rich repertoire. However, Aamir, in a recent interview, revealed that Gowariker had narrated the story to him, and he had found it boring.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h2>What Aamir Khan said about Swades</h2><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In a recent chat with Zoom, while promoting his upcoming film&nbsp;<i>Sitaare Zameen Par</i>, Aamir Khan revealed why he didn’t reunite with Ashutosh Gowariker for&nbsp;<i>Swades</i>&nbsp;after working with him in&nbsp;<i>Lagaan</i>&nbsp;(2001). Aamir shared, “Why I said no to Swades? Mujhe bohot boring lagi thi.(I found it very boring).”&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p><p>Khan revealed that Gowariker had told him the story of&nbsp;<i>Swades</i>, which was titled ‘Kaveri Amma’ at the time, when they were shooting for&nbsp;<i>Lagaan&nbsp;</i>and Aamir had initially liked it. But after completing&nbsp;<i>Lagaan</i>&nbsp;when he heard the 3 hour narration of&nbsp;<i>Swades</i>, Aamir told the filmmaker that he found it boring.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p><p>Aamir stated that while the thought behind the film was noble, the way it was told was boring. Aamir went on to share, “Actually, maine abhi tak film dekhi nahi hai, Swades. Toh shayad usne correct kiya hoga, achhi bani hogi, I don't know. Aur logo ko Shah Rukh ka kaam khaas pasand aaya tha usme, maine yeh note kiya tha.(Actually, I still haven’t watched Swades. He must have made it well, I don’t know. And I know that people loved Shah Rukh in the film.)</p><h2>Netizens react<br>&nbsp;</h2><p>Many on the internet were not happy with Aamir’s statement. The comment led to massive trolling, with some accusing Aamir of being bitter about rejecting the project. Some even took a dig at him for making remakes.&nbsp;</p><p>One user wrote, “I have watched swades 3-4 times on tv. Every Independence Day, they used to telecast it. One of the best movie of srk.<i> Hit movie kahi se copied hoti toh mamu kar lete,</i>(had the script been copied, he would have done it)” whereas another asked, “<i>Kyunki script original thi?</i>(because the script was original?)”&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p><p>A comment read, “Isko Oscar worthy film banani hai. Aur phir LSC, Ghajini aur Dhoom jaisi remake banata hai.(He wants to make Oscar-worthy films. And then make remakes like<i> Laal Singh Chaddha, Ghajini, </i>and <i>Dhoom</i>) Swadesh was one Oscar-worthy film, even more so than Lagaan any day.”&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p><p>Another person said, “He was a bitter person, he is a bitter person, he will be a bitter person. And apparently, <i>Thugs, Dhoom 3, Mela, Mann, Mangal Pandey, Dhobi Ghaat, Baazi, Love Love Love, Tum Mere Ho, Talaash</i> are all movies that were more entertaining.”</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Swades released in 2004 and had SRK playing Mohan Bhargav, a NASA scientist whose visit to his ancestral home in India, changes his perspective and helps him bring change to his native place. The film is considered one of the best films in SRK’s rich repertoire. However, Aamir, in a recent interview, revealed that Gowariker had narrated the story to him, and he had found it boring. What Aamir Khan said about Swades In a recent chat with Zoom, while promoting his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan revealed why he didn’t reunite with Ashutosh Gowariker for Swades after working with him in Lagaan (2001). Aamir shared, “Why I said no to Swades? Mujhe bohot boring lagi thi.(I found it very boring).” Khan revealed that Gowariker had told him the story of Swades, which was titled ‘Kaveri Amma’ at the time, when they were shooting for Lagaan and Aamir had initially liked it. But after completing Lagaan when he heard the 3 hour narration of Swades, Aamir told the filmmaker that he found it boring. Aamir stated that while the thought behind the film was noble, the way it was told was boring. And I know that people loved Shah Rukh in the film.) Netizens react Many on the internet were not happy with Aamir’s statement. The comment led to massive trolling, with some accusing Aamir of being bitter about rejecting the project. Some even took a dig at him for making remakes. One user wrote, “I have watched swades 3-4 times on tv. Every Independence Day, they used to telecast it. One of the best movie of srk. Hit movie kahi se copied hoti toh mamu kar lete,(had the script been copied, he would have done it)” whereas another asked, “Kyunki script original thi?(because the script was original?)” A comment read, “Isko Oscar worthy film banani hai. Aur phir LSC, Ghajini aur Dhoom jaisi remake banata hai.(He wants to make Oscar-worthy films. And then make remakes like Laal Singh Chaddha, Ghajini, and Dhoom) Swadesh was one Oscar-worthy film, even more so than Lagaan any day.” Another person said, “He was a bitter person, he is a bitter person, he will be a bitter person. And apparently, Thugs, Dhoom 3, Mela, Mann, Mangal Pandey, Dhobi Ghaat, Baazi, Love Love Love, Tum Mere Ho, Talaash are all movies that were more entertaining.”

Aditya Chopra’s iconic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) will soon be adapted for stage as Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical. Shah Rukh, who played Raj in the original film, dropped by during rehearsals of the play, ahead of its premiere this month-end. The picture has been shared by the musical's official Instagram account. About DDLJ musical Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical is set to make its UK premiere at Manchester Opera House from May 29 to June 21 this year. The musical will showcased to the press on June 4. The musical is set in UK and India, much like the film, and is also directed by Aditya. Jena Pandya, who plays Simran – a role originally played by Kajol – expressed excitement in meeting Shah Rukh. “Meeting Shah Rukh Khan and having him in the rehearsal room was such an honour. He was so generous with his time and support for the show. Being able to show him some of the iconic scenes that he and Kajol originally established was an incredible feeling and will be a long-lasting memory for me. I can’t wait to head to Manchester next week and put this story on stage!” Pandya said.
