Shah Rukh Khan ranks among the richest superstars in the country, but when he bought his landmark house, Mannat in Mumbai, he revealed he practically was broke and didn`t have any money to get it refurbished and furnished and so his wife Gauri Khan turned designer for the house. Over the years, Mannat has become one of the most landmark structures of Mumbai where scores of tourists make a pit stop every day.

King Khan, who made a spectacular comeback earlier this year with Pathaan, was interacting with the media on Monday night during the launch of Gauri Khan`s coffee-table book, My Life In Design.

Sharing the interesting story behind their house Mannat and how Gauri Khan entered the world of designing Shah Rukh said, "When we bought Mannat, it was way beyond our means, and once we were done buying the house, we didn`t have money to decorate it. We hired a designer, only to realise we couldn`t afford him.

"So, I turned to Gauri, as she had artistic talent, and asked her to be the designer for our house. Mannat started like that, and over time, we earned and kept buying little stuff for the house. We even once went to South Africa to buy leather for the sofas, and I think that training ground got her into designing."

Gauri Khan's book charts her journey as a designer with exclusive pictures of her and her family. Unseen images of Mannat and the design thought processes that went into turning around the heritage property, and other key projects as well, are a part of the book.

Gauri Khan also spoke about her husband being the hardest to please. Her most challenging project has been designing the Red Chillies Entertainment office.

She said: "Every project is dear to a designer, whether you`re working on something big or small, each project has challenges, and we have to give it our best. I have been working for so many years, but I think Shah Rukh`s project, the Red Chillies office, was a tough one to crack. Our team was always struggling to get his approval because he would come up with a better design, at all times."

It was registered on March 11.

"This amount was finally settled for Rs 180 million. A token amount of Rs 5 million as bribe money was also taken by KP Gosavi and his aide Sanvile D'Souza but later a part of this amount of Rs 5 million bribe money was returned back by them," the FIR stated.

Wankhede, in the capacity of the immediate supervisory officer, had also directed to take Gosavi and Prabhakar Sail as independent witnesses in the proceedings against Aryan. The CBI says Wankhede also allowed Gosavi to handle the accused while taking him to the NCB Office, which gave the impression that Aryan was in the custody of Gosavi.

Sources close to the film have revealed the reasons behind the postponement of the film.

"Jawan has been shifted from June to September because it is not ready. Shah Rukh Khan and his director Atlee don't want to rush through the special effects and post-production. After Pathaan, SRK doesn't want to give his fans an experience that will compromise their movie experience even a bit. Henceforth SRK won't do any project that falls even an iota below what his audience expects," said the source to E Times.
SRK announced the new release date for Jawan with a teaser and poster, both of which were shared on his social media accounts.

Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan to now release on this date

After earning moolah at the box office worldwide, Shah Rukh Khan's blockbuster film Pathaan is all set to hit theatres soon in Bangladesh. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also stars John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, and Dimple Kapadia in the lead roles.

SRK's comeback film, which was released on January 25, shattered several box office records. With over US $130 million (Rs 1050 crore) earning at the global box office, the movie became one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2023. The movie will release in Bangladesh on May 12.

Pathaan would be the first Hindi film to have a wide release in Bangladesh since the country’s formation in 1971. Earlier, Indian films were not allowed to be released in the neighbouring country in order to protect the country’s local film industry.

However, earlier this year in February, a consortium of 19 Bangladesh film associations decided to allow Hindi-language films to release in the country and suggested that 10 films release a year, as per Variety.

Nelson D’Souza, VP, international distribution, at Yash Raj Films, said: “Cinema has always been a unifying force between nations, races and cultures. It transcends borders, galvanizes people and plays a significant hand in bringing people together. We are incredibly thrilled that Pathaan, which has done historic business worldwide, will now get a chance to entertain audiences in Bangladesh.”

He added, “Pathaan becomes the first Hindi film to release in Bangladesh post-1971 and we are thankful to the authorities for their decision. We have learnt over the years that Shah Rukh Khan has a tremendous fan following in Bangladesh and we feel Pathaan, our latest offering from YRF’s Spy Universe, is the perfect first film of SRK & Hindi cinema to release in the country and represent Indian culture and cinema in its full glory.”

This is not the first time a Bollywood film will be released in Bangladesh. In 2009, the decision was relaxed, and Salman Khan's film Wanted was released in the territory. However, the film faced a huge backlash, and it was pulled down from the 50 cinemas where it was running.

The screenplay is written by Shridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala and the story is written by Anand, who has also helmed films like War and Bang Bang.
WION's review:

WION's film critic, Shomini Sen, gave the film a positive review. She wrote, "Does Pathaan work despite the flaws?" Yes, because of Shah Rukh Khan and the image he has so carefully cultivated over all these years. His character is that of an orphan who has been raised in an orphanage and has never had a religion to follow. He was named Pathaan by a family in Afghanistan that saved him during a covert operation. "Pathaan," the film, does not diss any religion, but only the bad guys, and makes SRK the superhero who places his country above all religious fanaticism. Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan to release in Bangladesh on this date

After shooting a few segments of his upcoming film Dunki in Kashmir, Shah Rukh Khan returned to Mumbai on Wednesday. At the airport, he was welcomed by a huge crowd waiting outside to click selfies with him. The otherwise gracious SRK, who often speaks warmly of his fans and appreciates their contribution to his success, was in no mood to click pictures, so he blocked a fan from doing so. Then his security pushed the fan away to make way for the actor and his entourage. A video of the same has gone viral on social media and is getting mixed reactions from netizens.

The actor was accompanied by his manager, Pooja Dadlani and his security guards. Dressed in an all-black ensemble, the actor is seen exiting the arrival terminal of the Mumbai airport in the viral video. Check it out below!

After shooting a few segments of his upcoming film Dunki in Kashmir, Shah Rukh Khan returned to Mumbai on Wednesday. At the airport, he was welcomed by a huge crowd waiting outside to click selfies with him.

Annoyed Shah Rukh Khan stops fan from taking selfie at airport; viral video leaves netizens divided

Indian edtech firm Byju’s and Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan have been asked to compensate an aspirant of the Indian Administration Service (IAS) for alleged “fraudulent behaviour” and “unfair trade practice”. The order was issued by the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission of Indore, a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

The complainant woman, Priyanka Dixit, said she enrolled for the IAS coaching course with Byju’s after being influenced by its advertisement which featured Shah Rukh Khan. She paid INR 1.08 lakh in fees for the course in 2021. She was promised by the company that her course would start on January 14, 2021, but it never did.

What did the commission say?

The redressal commission asked Byju’s to return the full course fees to Priyanka along with 12 per cent annual interest. It also asked both Khan and Byju’s to give her INR 5,000 as litigation cost and INR 50,000 as compensation and mental agony. The commission also clarified that the local manager of Byju’s in Indore and actor Khan must pay the amount “jointly or severally” to Dixit.

The order released by the redressal commission read, “The woman complainant was encouraged to take admission in Byju’s coaching (course) by placing false and misleading online advertisements on behalf of the opposition parties. No coaching facility was provided after receiving the fee and despite assurance of refund of the amount, the fee was not refunded, which in itself is fraudulent behaviour and shows unfair trade practice.”

Why was Shah Rukh Khan implicated in the case?

As per Priyanka Dixit’s lawyer Suresh Kanga, consumers in India can rightfully sue even the people advertising the product. “As per provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, a person can file a complaint against a company for errors in services as well as against those advertising it”, Kanga said.

The ED carried out searches at the premises of a Bengaluru firm linked to the edtech giant on Saturday. On the other hand, the Byju’s has termed it a routine enquiry.

In a statement, the company said, “We have been completely transparent with the authorities and have provided them with all the information they have requested.
For those who loved Salman Khan's cameo in Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan earlier this year, there is good news. The two actors will share the screen space once again in Yash Raj Films' upcoming spy thriller- Tiger vs Pathaan. The film is a part of YRF Spy Universe and the Khans will reprise their roles as Indian Intelligence officers Pathaan and Tiger. The film will be helmed by War and Pathaan director Siddharth Anand.

Speaking to Variety, a source close to the project said, "Siddharth is getting a dream cast of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan coming together for their first full-fledged film since Karan Arjun (1995), and Siddharth will also be given all the support he needs to mount Tiger vs Pathaan as the biggest film that India has ever produced."

Principal photography on the film will begin in January 2024.
Pathaan to meet Tiger again! Shah Rukh Khan to start shooting for Salman Khan's Tiger 3 soon

Indian film superstar Shah Rukh Khan returned with a vengeance in January with Pathaan, a glossy, star-studded action film that has restored his stardom. SRK had taken a hiatus in 2018 after a string of flops and disappointments. But with Siddharth Anand's Pathaan, he has once again become the King of Bollywood. Until now, the film has earned Rs 518.06 crore ($62 million) in India. The film's Hindi version crossed the Rs 500 crore mark on Tuesday. Ever since it was released, Pathaan has dominated the box office. Even after several new releases, it has refused to bow out of cinema halls.

WION's film critic Shomini Sen gave the film a positive review. She wrote, "Does Pathaan work despite the flaws? Yes, because of Shah Rukh Khan and the image he has so carefully cultivated over all these years. His character is an orphan who has been raised in an orphanage and never had a religion to follow. He was named Pathaan by a family in Afghanistan which saved him during a covert operation. Pathaan the film does not diss any religion but only the bad guys and makes SRK the superhero who places his country above all religious fanatism. Pretty much similar to how Khan has projected himself all these years."

Shah Rukh Khan, Mouni Roy and other B-town stars grace Smriti Irani's daughter's reception

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' is still earning big at the box office. The film, which featured Khan as an action hero for the very first time is inching closer to the Rs 1000 (10 billion) mark. Sidharth Anand's directorial venture was released in the theatres on January 25 and within three weeks of its release, the film entered the coveted Rs 500 crore club (5 billion) club, domestically.

So far, the film has crossed Rs 970 crore and we go by the reports the film will cross Rs 1000 crore (10 billion) soon.

However, the film did see a drop at the start of this week but saw a huge jump on Valentine's day.

After taking 'KGF 2' lifetime collection in the Hindi belt, the film has surpassed SS Rajamouli’s 'Baahubali 2'.

However, beating Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and Aamir Khan's 'Secret Superstar', the film has also become the fifth highest-grossing Indian film.

'Pathaan' is SRK's first big screen release as a lead star in four years. His last film 'Zero' was a box-office disaster.

The film also features Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. And, also has Salman
Khan in a cameo appearance as Tiger.

The film might see a decline in numbers after the release of Kartik Aaryan's 'Shehzada' and the MCU's 'The Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania.'

WION's film critic Shomini Sen gave the film a positive review. She wrote, "Does 'Pathaan' work despite the flaws? Yes, because of Shah Rukh Khan and the image he has so carefully cultivated over all these years. His character is an orphan who has been raised in an orphanage who never had a religion to follow. He was named Pathaan by a family in Afghanistan which saved him during a covert operation. 'Pathaan' the film does diss any religion but only the bad guys and makes SRK the superhero who places his country above all religious fanatism. Pretty much similar to how Khan has projected himself all these years."

On Saturday, the film grossed over Rs 900 crore (9 billion) at the box office worldwide, Yash Raj Films said in a press note. Balenciaga's creative director Demna addresses controversial ads for the first time Deepika Padukone and John Abraham's film earned 590 crores (5.9 billion ) in India on Friday, bringing the domestic total to 455 crores (4.55 billion). In the post, the makers called the film the highest-grossing Hindi film in the history of cinema. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Yash Raj Films (@yrf) × Taran Adarsh also revealed the film's box office numbers: "#Pathaan grows at *national chains* on [the third Friday]: Thu, 2.42 cr, Fri, 2.58 cr,...On [the third] Saturday and Sunday, when single screens join the party, expect significant growth or a jump...Today [third Saturday], we will surpass 450 crores...[Week 3] Friday, 5.75 cr. Total: 448.25 cr. "#Hindi. #Indiabiz," the tweet reads. The film will rule the theatres for one more week alone until it is joined by Kartik Aaryan's 'Shehzada' and the MCU's 'The Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania.' The film has also become the second highest-grossing movie in Bollywood with Rs 880 crore (8.80 billion), surpassing Salman Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan"'s total box office collection of Rs 866 crore (8.66 billion) worldwide. "This is pretty much how Khan has portrayed himself over the years."

WION's film critic, Shomini Sen, gave the film a positive review. She wrote, "Does 'Pathaan' work despite the flaws?" Yes, because of Shah Rukh Khan and the image he has so carefully cultivated over all these years. "Pretty much how Khan has projected himself over the years."
