The in-form Shreyas Iyer was rewarded for his match-winning 92 and 67 against Sri Lanka as he took a giant leap, advancing 40 spots to be on 37th position in the batting chart.

Sri Lanka Test captain Dimuth Karunaratne jumped up to a career-best No 3 after his fighting 107 in the second innings in Bangalore.

In the all-rounders' table, Ravindra Jadeja was displaced from the No.1 position as West Indies' Jason Holder reclaimed the top spot.

The 12-day strength and conditioning pre-season camp, ahead of Mumbai Indians'&nbsp;first match, is being held at their in-house training facility at the Reliance Jio Stadium, Navi Mumbai.

Over the next 11-weeks, Mumbai Indians coaching staff will look at upskilling the young domestic and international recruits through individual sessions, game situations, mental aspects and physical fitness.

Joining Zaheer and Mahela in this task will be the likes of Shane Bond, Robin Singh, Kiran More, Rahul Sanghvi, Vinay Kumar, TA Sekar, Paul Chapman and data analyst CKM Dhananjai - who have a proven record of nurturing the likes of Suryakumar, Bumrah, Ishan, Pandya brothers and many more in the past.

While Rohit insisted that he wants Pant to continue playing his natural attacking game, the Indian skipper said Pant has been told that he would have to curtail his natural instincts and play as per the situation whenever the team requires.

"His batting is his batting. We know how he bats and as a team we just want to give him that freedom to bat in the way that he wants to bat. But also keeping in mind certain situations of the game, where the game is going, we have also conveyed that to him, but we want to stick with his game plan as a team. It just seems to get better and get better - his game plans," said Rohit in the press conference post the conclusion of the 2nd Test against Sri Lanka.

"There will be times when you will smash your head and say 'why did he play that shot' but again we need to be ready to accept that with him when he bats. And he is somebody who can change the game in 40 minutes," he added.

Rohit Sharma went on to clean sweep his maiden Test series as a skipper as India beat Sri Lanka by 238 runs in the Day-Night Test match here at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to sweep the two-match series 2-0.

In challenging conditions to bat under the lights the Indian batters struggled but Shreyas Iyer's strategy to attack paid him rich dividends as he top-scored for India in both innings scoring 92 and 67.

His superlative performance helped him earn the 'Player of the Match'&nbsp;award as well as the praise of his skipper.

"Shreyas just carried on from where he left off in the T20 series against Sri Lanka. He seemed to carry that form into the Test series. He knew he was stepping into the big shoes of guys like Rahane and Pujara, but he has everything that he requires. He will be better now when he starts travelling," said Indian captain Virat Kohli.

Jadeja, who has been an integral member of India's squad across formats, has been kept in the A category. Former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Gautam Gambhir has named one Indian star who used to give him sleepless nights in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Gambhir is one of the most successful leaders in the history of IPL with two trophies to his name as the captain of KKR.

Gambhir led KKR to their maiden IPL triumph in 2012 before inspiring them to another trophy in 2014. Gambhir's KKR had defeated MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2012 final to lift their first title before beating Punjab Kings in the final of the 2014 edition to win their second IPL crown.

While Ravindra Jadeja was the star performer, with a glorious 175* and accounting for a nine-wicket haul in the match, R Ashwin also made heads turn with his vital contributions with both bat and ball. Ashwin scored his 12th Test half-century (61) and returned with a six-fer. By taking his fifth wicket in the match, the 35-year-old surpassed Kapil Dev's wicket-tally (434) to become India's second-highest wicket-taker in the red-ball format.
