Pandya got injured during India's win over Bangladesh on October 19 in Pune. He was taken for a scan after twisting his ankle and returned to the ground afterwards.</p>

<p>The BCCI, in a press release, confirmed&nbsp;that Pandya will not be travelling with the team to Dharamsala to play against New Zealand but instead will join the team in Lucknow for the match against England.</p>

<p>"The all-rounder was taken for scans and is advised rest. He will be under the constant supervision of the BCCI Medical Team. He will not be taking the flight to Dharamsala with the team on 20<sup>th</sup>&nbsp;October and will now join the team directly in Lucknow where India play England," read the BCCI release.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>As per a report in the Indian Express, a BCCI official was also quoted as saying that the all-rounder will be missing India's next game against New Zealand.</p>

<p>“He will be heading to Bengaluru where he has been asked to report to the NCA. The medical team assessed his ankle scan report and it looks he will be fine by taking an injection. The BCCI consulted a specialist doctor in England and they too were of the similar opinion. He will be missing the next game,” a BCCI official said as per the report.</p>

<p>The incident happened during the ninth over of the Bangladesh innings when Pandya was bowling his first over. On the third ball of his over, he tried to stop a shot by a Bangladesh batter in his follow-through and twisted his ankle. The team physio attended to him immediately on the ground but the all-rounder wasn't able to continue.</p>

<p>Pandya left the field, hobbling, and was taken for scans afterwards. India batter Virat Kohli, meanwhile, completed the remaining over for the team.</p>

<p>After India won the match by seven wickets, skipper Rohit Sharma spoke about Pandya's injury and said there was nothing serious to worry about.</p>

<p>“He (Hardik) pulled up a bit sore, nothing really major to worry. We'll see how he pulls up tomorrow morning and then plan on how to go forward,” Rohit said.</p>

<p>According to another report in Cricbuzz, Pandya's scans have been sent to a specialist and further action will be taken after the assessment from the doctor.</p>

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were also key to India in the bowling department as they too ended with two wickets each.</p>

<p>India will take on New Zealand on Sunday in Dharamshala where the two unbeaten sides in the tournament will collide to decide the outright league table leader. New Zealand has so far beaten England, Netherlands, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan while India have got the better of Pakistan and Australia in addition.</p>

<p>India famously lost to New Zealand in the 2019 ODI World Cup semifinal while the same result followed in the World Test Championship (WTC) final in 2021. India have not won an ICC trophy since 2013 when they tasted victory in the Champions Trophy.</p>

<p>Irfan shared the incident following PCB's formal complaint, raising issue on the treatment given to Pakistani cricketers during the India clash. "The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged another formal protest with the ICC over delays in visas for Pakistani journalists and the absence of a visa policy for Pakistan fans for the ongoing World Cup 2023. The PCB has also filed a complaint regarding inappropriate conduct targeted at the Pakistan squad during the India vs Pakistan match held on 14 October 2023," PCB posted on X.</p>

They entered the ten-team tournament with several injury concerns. Regular captain Kane Williamson missed the first two games (with a knee injury), played the third and is once again out of action with a thumb injury. Meanwhile,&nbsp;Tim Southee is yet to play --&nbsp;also dealing with&nbsp;a thumb&nbsp;injury. It could be India vs New Zealand in CWC '23 final: Former Indian opener makes BOLD claim

<p>India all-rounder Hardik Pandya got injured during the ODI World Cup 2023 match against Bangladesh while bowling and left the field after that. Virat Kohli came on to complete over - a rare sight for the fans.</p>

<p>It was the ninth over of the match and Pandya's first, of which he had bowled juts three balls. On the third ball of the over, Pandya tripped on his follow-through and twisted his ankle. The Indian physio immediately rushed to the field and offered some treatment to the all-rounder. Pandya, however, wasn't able to continue and left the field.</p>

<p>The fans in MCA Stadium, Pune, however, cheered on as soon as Kohli came on to bowl. The star batter bowled rest of the three deliveries to complete the over. Have a look at the video here:</p>

While there was a lot of talk about India likely to include Mohammed Shami in the starting XI, the home side has gone unchanged.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Defending champions England's ODI World Cup campaign hasn't gone the way they would have wanted as they have two suffered two losses in three games so far. The team, however, is confident of turning things around and defending their title.</p>

<p>"There's a reason why the guys won the T20 World Cup last year; there's a reason why the guys won the 2019 World Cup, and we're the defending champions," said Jonny Bairstow ahead of their next match against South Africa. "Just because we've lost a game to Afghanistan doesn't make us bad cricketers or anything like that," he added.</p>

<p>On England's 69-run loss against Afghanistan, Bairstow said that the Afghan players play in the IPL and have decent spinners in the squad. He also agreed that the team didn't play well enough but the team has moved on from that.</p>

<p>The spinner took a one-handed stunner off Lockie Ferguson to dismiss Afghan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi to further derail the Afghan chase. Netherlands stun South Africa again in World Cup's second big upset with 38-run win in Dharamsala

<p>Netherlands pacer Logan van Beek was the star of the night for his team as the Dutch defended a modest 245 to upset red-hot South Africa in the ODI World Cup 2023 match on October 17 in Dharamsala. The bowler took three wickets in total, including the much-needed wicket of David Miller who was the last hope for the Proteas after losing five wickets for 89.</p>

<p>Batting on 43 with the target still 100 runs away, Miller got a ripper of a ball from van Beek off which the batter swung a bit too early and wildly, resulting in his stumps being rattled. Have a look at the video here:</p>

Rahmat Shah (36) was the top scorer but did not get the required support as Afghanistan lost their way in the chase.</p>

<p>"You got to let the emotion kind of seep in," Bavuma said at the post-match presentation. "Don't think there is any point in trying to forget what's happened. It is going to hurt, it should hurt."</p>

<p>"But then you come back tomorrow, you wake up and we get back onto the journey. Our campaign is not over by any stretch of the imagination, but you got to feel the emotion of today and come back tomorrow with the head held up," he said.</p>

<p>"We were clinical against Australia, but the challenge was always to come back and replicate that performance. The fielding wasn't up to standard. Again if you look at the way we fielded against Australia compared to today, definitely not the same standard.</p>

<p>"Those are conversations we need to have. The guys need to answer the questions themselves where mentally they were. That's definitely not the standard we'd like to show from a fielding point of view."</p>

<p>South Africa had Netherlands on the ropes with six wickets down for 110-odd but a counterattack by Dutch captain Scott Edwards (78 off 69) took Netherlands to 245. South Africa were in tatters during the chase with five down for 89.</p>

<p>"I think we got them to 112 for 6. From that point, you are probably not looking at anything more than 200. We definitely dropped the ball there letting them get to 240-plus," Bavuma said. "With the batting, we were still confident in chasing down that score but we didn't get any partnerships. Them with their double-spin in the powerplay, was something we did not adapt to. Kudos to them, the way they were able to exploit certain weaknesses within our game."</p>

ODI World Cup 2023: South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma wants emotion of loss against Netherlands to 'SEEP IN'

<p>Bangladesh cricket team is optimistic over the selection of skipper Shakib Al Hasan in their ODI World Cup contest against India as they sweat on the fitness of the star player. Shakib, leading Bangladesh in the World Cup injured his left quad against New Zealand in Chennai which raised concerns in the&nbsp;camp. While Shakib took to the nets on Tuesday and Wednesday, the management will take a call on Thursday (Oct 19) morning whether to include him in the matchday squad, according to head coach Chandika Hathurusingha.</p>

<h2><strong>Bangladesh optimistic over Shakib</strong></h2>

<p>“He had a good batting session yesterday and did a little bit of running between the wickets as well. We did a scan today, we are waiting for the result. At the moment, he is okay,” Hathurusingha said on the eve of the contest.</p>

<p>It is understood that he has not yet bowled in the nets which could come as a blow for the Men in Green. Shakib has been a prime contributor for Bangladesh with both bat and ball and has scored 55 runs. On the bowling side, he has five wickets in three matches which highlights his importance to the team.</p>

<p>“We haven't tried with him bowling yet. We will assess him again and we will make a decision. If he is not ready to play, we won't risk him. But if he is ready, then there is a chance of him playing tomorrow,” Hathurusingha added.</p>

<p>Australia finally managed to get on the points table with a win over Sri Lanka on October 16 in Lucknow. The five-wicket win, however, wasn't easy as the Aussies were made to work hard for it. Former Australia player and WION's cricket expert Dav Whatmore also agreed that they (Australians) had a bit of a scare early on but played sufficiently enough to win.</p>

<p>"It is a little bit of confidence that they were searching for and it wasn't easy to win early on. They had to fight for it. And they played sufficiently well enough to get the win. They had a little scare at the start with their bowling and a scare with their batting but they prevailed and that's a good thing," said Whatmore.</p>

<p>Talking about how Australia can build upon this win, Whatmore said their next game against Pakistan would be important and they are going to turn it around.</p>

<p>On the question of if Australia are lacking one more specialist spinner apart from Adam Zampa: "If the fast bowlers were getting wickets up front you don't need another spinner. These things get exposed when everyone's job is not done as well as it could be."</p>

ODI World Cup: Pat Cummins is under no captaincy pressure, reveals Adam Zampa after Australia beat Sri Lanka

<p>Pat Cummins-led Australia were off to a disastrous start in the 2023 ODI World Cup in India. Facing the hosts in their tournament opener, Australia lost by six wickets and were then beaten by South Africa by 134 runs in their following game. After their two back-to-back defeats, where they struggled with the bat and looked ordinary on the field overall, Steve Smith opened up on the jolts ahead of his side's clash versus Sri Lanka, on Monday (Oct 16) in Lucknow.</p>

<p>Smith said that the team had several things to work on. The former Aussie captain is hopeful that things will change for the good&nbsp;in the third match.</p>

<p>Talking to the broadcasters, Smith told, "Not overthinking much though we have lost two games. We put ourselves in a corner by the two sides, which played really well. It is all about coming into the groove as soon as possible."</p>

'We put ourselves in a corner': Steve Smith on Australia's horror start in CWC 2023

After three games, they remain unbeaten and have shown a lot of determination on the field as the Men in Blue look to end their ten-year-long ICC title drought. <p>Speaking on Star Sports show "Follow the Blues", Mazumdar said, "According to me, when he wasn’t selected in that 2011 World Cup where the team happened to go and win the tournament, that really upset him. After that, he’s just been excellent. When he got the captaincy (in the IPL) later, it added responsibility on his shoulders, and he really matured."</p>

<p>“And, the third one, which is the most important point, is that he has that magical touch in him. Whatever changes he makes, that comes out like a magical touch, like, for example, Mumbai Indians got that magical touch in their team after Rohit Sharma became their captain."</p>
