"Today, people are raving about CSK and their success. A lot is being said about Dhoni's captaincy. However, apart from his captaincy, there is a skill that has taken a back seat over the years, that is not being spoken much about. We always talk about his captaincy, his Midas touch, but his finishing ability with the bat is not spoken about much," Ashwin said in a show on his YouTube channel.

"In a situation where 60 is needed off 20 balls, he goes to the middle and smashes a couple of sixes and a couple of boundaries. He brings down the equation to l5 from the last over. We have seen this quite a few times in this past. CSK loses that game, the campaign would stutter. I have seen such scenarios," he added.

Ashwin explained how Dhoni helping secure wins from improbable situations during the league stages often helps the team's morale and boosts their confidence going forward in the competition.&nbsp;

Speaking to Times Now, Ngidi said, "It was the final against the Sunrisers (Hyderabad) in 2018, we hadn’t discussed a certain field placement but he automatically just changed my field and with that field, within a couple of balls, we got a wicket to the fielder that he had moved. So for me, that’s one thing that sticks out in my mind because in a final, to have such a moment like that and to execute the plan that he wanted, really gave me confidence in terms of how to bowl and it just showed me how in tune he is with the game in terms of how he sees it’s going to play out and it played out exactly the way I think he thought it was going to."

Ngidi returned with magical figures of 4-1-26-1 during CSK's 8-wicket win over SRH in the IPL 2018 final. In what was his maiden IPL season, the South African seamer played a key role in the Yellow Army's third title, accounting for&nbsp;25 wickets in 14 matches. It was also CSK's comeback season post the two-year suspension on account of spot-fixing scandal.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have retained captain MS Dhoni, all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali and opener Ruturaj&nbsp;Gaikwad ahead of the mega auction. It must have been difficult for CSK to pick only four players from a squad full of match-winners and some of the most talented players in the league.

There were a number of talented players who were let go of by the four-time champions due to limitations on retentions. The likes of Faf du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu, Shardul Thakur, Sam Curran and Josh Hazlewood among others were some of the top players released by CSK ahead of the mega auction.&nbsp;

The franchise would be certainly hoping to buy some of their old players back during the upcoming mega auction. Among the players who are keen to rejoin CSK and play under Dhoni is veteran India batter Rayudu, who was recently seen in action for Andhra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, believes he has a lot of cricket left in him and can continue playing&nbsp;for the next three years.

"I would love to keep playing till I am in good form and fit. I will be ready for the next cycle, which is three years and I am working hard on my fitness," Rayudu was quoted as saying by PTI.

"I recently played the Vijay Hazare Trophy which is five one-day games in six days which I got through well. I am in good shape and I hope to continue to play at least for the next three years," the 36-year old added.

Rayudu has played a vital role in CSK's success since joining the franchise in the 2018 season. He played 61 matches for CSK and scored 1500 runs at an average of 34.09 and a strike rate close to 130. He played an instrumental role in CSK's title triumph in 2018 and scored runs consistently in the next three seasons as well.

"My stint with CSK has been a very special one. We have won two IPLs till now and played one final. 2018 was a very special season, a comeback season for CSK and us winning the IPL that year made it very special," said Rayudu.&nbsp;

"Dhoni bhai has had the impact of getting the best out of me, not only me but he has an impact on everyone and brings the best performance out of everyone in the team. That is why he is the best captain India has ever had," he added.

The Hyderabad star revealed he has not had any formal conversations yet with the team but&nbsp;is hopeful of reuniting with CSK at the mega auction next year. The IPL mega auction is set to take place in February next year and will feature a host of superstars who are set to go under the hammer.

"I would definitely love to play for CSK. Formally, there has not been any communication with me so far, But I am hoping to get picked by them and have a successful league again," said Rayudu.

A number of top Indian players are all set to grace the auction pool ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction which is all set to take place before the start of the new season next year. The existing eight IPL teams have already revealed the list of retained players while the two new teams - Lucknow and Ahmedabad have the option to pick three players each from the pool of non-retained players ahead of the mega auction.

There will be no Right To Match (RTM) option this time around in the mega auction for the old teams. Nonetheless, a number of teams will be looking to buy back some of the important players they had to let go of due to the cap on retentions. Ahead of the mega auction, senior Indian off-spinner R Ashwin has expressed his desire to return to his former team Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Ashwin said CSK is like a school for him where he learnt the tricks of the trade and would love to return back home. He said the franchise remains close to his heart but insisted the auction dynamics might see him end up at some other franchise. During a recent interaction with Hindustan Times, Bolt revealed that he wants to get back to shape and feature in the IPL. When asked if he would like to feature in the forthcoming IPL 2022, starting next year, Bolt said, "Definitely. I will get my training on. I’ll get fit and get ready. The two main sports in Jamaica at the time was actually was football and cricket. I was a massive fan of cricket because my dad was a fan of it. He watched it every day, every chance you get, you would watch all the teams play so I grew up watching cricket."
