Football: Pardew appointed manager of Dutch side Den Haag

Former Newcastle United and West Ham UnitedmanagerAlanPardewhas beenappointedhead coach of ADODenHaaguntil the end of the season, theDutchEredivisie team announced.

Pardew, who has been out of a job since being sacked by West Bromwich Albion in April last year, has been tasked with gettingDenHaagout of the relegation zone with the struggling top-flightsidesecond from bottom after 18 games.

"I am glad ADODenHaagcame my way during the search for a new challenge," the BBC quoted 58-year-oldPardewas saying.

Pardew, who has also managed Reading, Charlton Athletic, Southampton, and Crystal Palace, replaces Alfons Groenendijk who leftDenHaagearlier this month.
