Manchester United will look to get the services of Jean-Clair Todibo of Nice as talks are held behind closed doors. The club will start their Premier League season on Monday, August 14 against manager-less Wolves.

Representing the Hammers, Baptiste, 19, is tipped to be the next big thing in English football and dimmed as the next Jadon Sancho and Phil Foden.

“I am finding it quite well. It’s obviously a different challenge that I have been able to come across. Most teams that I played in the last couple of years, I was the younger player. You can tell them (younger players) what they are doing right and doing wrong,” Baptiste said.

West Ham played ATK Mohun Bagan and Bengaluru FC in their first two games in the competition. They were held to a 1-1 draw against the Mariners but they followed it up by putting four past the Blues and keeping a clean sheet to notch an impressive victory in the second match. Baptiste has rubbed shoulders with some of the most stellar talents in English football but he believes that some key footballing philosophies remain constant across Premier League and Indian clubs.

“I think the mentality obviously of getting off and keeping the ball is quite the same (between Indian and English teams). I think they know when to press and when not to press. I think playing different teams that we probably will never face during the season and experiences of playing different types of teams have been very great,” the defender mentioned.

Premier League club West Ham released a statement condemning the action of the 27-year-old defender while maintaining that the club in no way supports cruelty towards animals. West Ham informed that the club have spoken to Zouma and that the matter will be dealt with internally.

“West Ham United unreservedly condemns the actions of our player, Kurt Zouma, in the video that has circulated," West Ham said in a statement.

“We have spoken to Kurt and will be dealing with the matter internally, but we would like to make it clear that we in no way condone cruelty towards animals," the club added.

Victory for high-flying West Ham ended Liverpool`s club record 25-match unbeaten run in all competitions and lifted them above Juergen Klopp`s side into third place in the table.

What always looked like a tough fixture for Liverpool began badly when keeper Alisson, who endured a difficult afternoon, flapped a cross into his own goal after four minutes.

Liverpool were never allowed to find any fluency but they were level by halftime thanks to a moment of magic from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

West Ham's fourth consecutive league win moves them to 23 points from 11 games with Juergen Klopp's side one point behind them and the Hammers head into the international break just three points behind leaders Chelsea.

It was a day to forget for Liverpool and especially Alisson.

The game was only four minutes old when he flapped at a Fornals corner under pressure from Angelo Ogbonna and the ball ended up in the net. He hoped for a reprieve via a VAR check but the goal was rightly allowed to stand.

Liverpool were ragged and a little lucky not to be down to 10 men after Diogo Jota caught Ogbonna with his elbow, forcing the West Ham player to be substituted.

When Zouma headed in shortly after for his first West Ham goal, again with Alisson found wanting, it felt like the roof was coming off the former Olympic Stadium.
