Pakistan scored in the last minute to draw the action-packed opener Pool B match against India of the men's hockey competition at the 21st Commonwealth Games.

For India, Dilepreet Singh (13th minute) scored in the first quarter and later on Harmanpreet Singh (20the minute) stretched the lead by converting a penalty corner in the second quarter of the game.

Team India was leading 2-0 when Muhammad Irfan Jr. (39th minute) pulled the deficit and scored the first goal for Pakistan. In the last minutes of the game, Pakistan was given a penalty corner and Ali Mubashar scored the sensational equaliser.

Pakistan emerged late in the game to snatch the victory from India. India lost tempo in the second half and Pakistan's last-minute review was fortunate for the team as their penalty corner conversion helped them to draw against arch-rival India.

All the excitement came down to the last seven seconds as the Indian hockey team's perennial problem of conceding late goals left them with a disappointment.
