Shuttler Kidambi Srikanth has been crashed out of the 18th Asian Games in men's singles second round of the badminton event on Friday.
The former world number one suffered a shocking defeat to Hong Kong's Wong Wing Ki Vincent 21-23 19-21.
The 25-year-old Srikanth had entered the game with a better 5-2 head-to-head record against Wong Wing Ki but eventually got outplayed.
Kidambi won had won the silver medal in the Commonwealth Games besides that he led his the mixed team to the coveted gold.
So far, Indian contingent has bagged a total of 23 medals including six golds.
Now track and field athletes will look to better India's medal tally as they begin their campaign in the Asian Games tomorrow.
