Reuters quoting security officials said a suicide bomber exploded a device near a tent where Muslim clerics had gathered to denounce terrorism.

Local media reported that at least 14 people, including 7 religious scholars and 4 security personnel, were killed in theattack.

The reports added that three others killed had not yet been identified.

The reports said 17 others had been wounded.

"Our initial information shows that the suicide attack took place when guests were exiting the tent where the meeting was being held," police spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai said.

Terrorists had opened fire in the Afghan capital last week leading to a gunfight with security forces.
