20 people, including children, drown in boat accident in eastern Afghanistan

Twenty people, including children, drowned in a boat accidentin Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province on Saturday, a provincial official said in a post on X.Quraishi Badloon, the head of the province's information department, said that the boat sank at 7 am local time in the river in the Basawul area of Momand Dara district.
Badloon added that peoplesurvived the accident. The cause of the mishap isbeing investigated.
Medical team sent to incident site
Citing theNangarhar Information and Culture Department, a report by the news agency AFP said thata medical team and ambulances to the area. At least five bodies were recovered while efforts were underway to find the others.
Meanwhile, 10 people were injured in the accident.
