US President Trump is set to sanction Iran from exporting oil which has triggered global anxiety across the world market.
The Rupee had opened at a fresh record low of 70.95 per dollar versus Friday's close 70.74.
The rupee's rise was highest since August 13th.
The 30-share index finally settled down 252.88 points or 0.76 per cent at 32,923.12. This is the weakest closing since December 6 last when it settled at 32,597.18.
