"I want Modi government should be criticised to the fullest, in every manner. Criticisms keep the government on their toes. If anyone criticises me then I consider it my good fortune. I don't feel bad about it," he further said. "...But unfortunately, to criticise, you have to research a lot and do a lot of hard work, have to collect facts and figures, and look at history," Modi added.

He further said: "Today, no one has so much time. Very few people do it. Today, criticism has taken the form of the allegation. In a democracy the biggest strength is criticism, and the allegation is worst. For a healthy democracy, criticism should get more importance and should be protected from the allegation. I always welcome criticism.”

Here is PM Narendra Modi's hilarious response:

Modi spent over two hours taking questions at Central Hall Westminister, the hallowed venue where the United Nations General Assembly first met in 1946.

Censor board chief Prasoon Joshi moderated the event, called - 'Bharat Ki Baat Sabke Saath' - where the prime minister took questions on a wide range of issues.

Modi arrived at the iconic hall after meeting Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace and holding bilateral talks with UK Prime Minister Theresa May.
