Inspector Manoj Kumar who shouted 'thain thain' to scare criminals during an encounter in Sambhal on October 12 sustained injuries on Friday during an exchange of fire between police and criminals in Sambhal, reported news agency ANI.

"Two bike-borne miscreants fired at police during which SI Manoj Kumar suffered injuries. During counter-firing, a criminal was also injured. One criminal absconding. Injured have been taken to the hospital,"  said SP Yamuna Prasad.

Kumar's revolver jammed during the course of the encounter forcing him to shout 'thain thain' to scare off the criminals.

In the video, shot on October 12, the cop was seen shouting, "maaro, ghero...thain thain" while other fellow officer struggled with his jammed up revolver.
