The video shot by the eyewitness, helped the police locate the survivor.
The incident has triggered political reactions, with Congress slamming the ruling BJP for the deteriorating law and order situation in India.
Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Jitu Patwari took toX, and said, “Once again, the holy city of Ujjain is tarnished. Once again, the blot is on Ujjain’s law and order. It is shocking to even think that rapes are now happening in broad daylight in MP — on open streets. This is only possible when the law and govt completely disappear. If this is the situation in the CM’s hometown, then one can imagine the condition of the rest of the state.”
