Two teens found hanging from tree in India's UP, one of the victim's father claims it's murder

Disturbing news has emerged from the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh (UP). A police official in UP's Farrukhabad said on Tuesday (Aug 27) that two girls aged 18 and 15 were found hanging from a tree in the Bhagautipur village.
Speaking to the news agency ANI, Superintendent of Police (SP) Alok Priyadarshi said that when cops received information of two girls being found hangingfrom a tree, they immediately rushed to the site to investigate.
"We found that the two girls, one 18 years old and the other 15 years old, were both friends and that they hung themselves together with one dupatta," SP Priyadarshi added.

Police have suspected that the girls climbed the tree together and tied dupattas to the branch to hang themselves."Prima facie, it seemed that the girls had done it by themselves. But, things will become clearer after the postmortem," SP Priyadarshi further told ANI.
The police found a mobile and a sim card at the scene of the incident, and these items were being investigated. The family members of the victimsfiled a case with the police to find out what caused this incident.
Further investigation is underway.
Victim's father claims it's murder
Speaking to ANI, the father of one of the victims claimed this was suicide.
"We had returned from the temple at night, and then after some time, both the girls told me that they were going to the Temple for the program. I work at the farm, so I was tired and I slept that time. When the program finished at 12, I couldn't find the girls, I asked everyone I could and searched all over for them but couldn't find them,"the man said.
He said that he found out about the bodieswhen someone had gone to the farm on Tuesday morning and informed him. The father claimed that he thought that someone had murdered the girls and then hanged them afterwards.
"I think that someone has killed them and then hanged them. But I don't have any enmity with anyone else," he further told the news agency.
