
Two flights of the Indian airline IndiGo, travelling from Mumbai to West Asia, received bomb threats, the news agency ANI reported on Monday (Oct 14). The flights were travelling to Saudi Arabia's Jeddah and Oman's Muscat respectively.
"IndiGo flight 6E 56 operating from Mumbai to Jeddah received a bomb threat. As per protocol, the aircraft was taken to an isolated bay, and following the standard operating procedures, mandatory security checks were promptly initiated," an IndiGo spokesperson told ANI.

The ongoing conflict in West Asiabetween Israel and Hamas, Israel and Hezbollah, and Israel and Iran is escalating with each passing day. Several major airlines have either cancelled their flights to and from West Asia or are looking for diversions to other airspaces.

These bombthreats came as an Air India flight from Mumbai to New York was diverted to New Delhifollowing a security concern arising out of a bomb threat.
According to the Delhi Police,the aircraft was currently stationed at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport,and all standard safety protocols were being followed to ensure the safety of passengers and crew on board.
Air India, meanwhile, said in a statement that its flightAI119 operating from Mumbai to JFK (John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York) on Sundayreceived a specific security alert and, on instructions of the government's security regulatory committee, was diverted to Delhi.
"All passengers have disembarked and are at the Delhi airport terminal," the statement said.
