'How many madrasas have produced engineers, doctors, IAS officers?' Wasim Rizvi asked

The chairman of the Shia Central Waqf Board, Wasim Rizvi, said Tuesday that madrasas should be affiliated to the CBSE and the ICSE.

The basis of his contention was that "madrasas have produced terrorists".

"How many madrasas have produced engineers, doctors, IAS officers?" he asked. "Yes, but some madrasas have produced terrorists," he answered.

Rizvi added that madrasas should admit non-Muslim students and religious education in them should be made optional.

He added that they should admit non-Muslim students and that religious education in them should be made optional.

Rizvi said his suggestions would make the country stronger.

Responding to his charges, AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi challenged Rizvi toshow any Shia or Sunni madrasa where "such teachings"were imparted.

"Wasim Rizvi is the biggest joker, the most opportunistic person," Owaisi said, adding that if he did have such proof he should "show it to the home minister".
