The smaller building also fell after the initial collapse. Some 14 to 15 families were believed to be living in the four-storey building, and 30 to 40 people are believed to be trapped under the rubble.

The incident occurred at Shah-Beri village at about 9:30 pm.

Search and rescue operations are underway with four National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams on the spot but the massive amount of rubble is reportedly making rescue operations difficult.
