A gut wrenching video from Kanpur surfaced online where a medical aspirant was thrashed by a group of men after he was unable to pay a betting amount. The video, which is doing rounds on social media, shows men mercilessly beating a boy who is seen crying with folded hands, asking the hooligans to spare him.

As per reports, the NEET aspirant from Kanpur was brutally kicked, slapped, had his face burned and a brick tied to his private parts because he was allegedly unable to repay Rs 20,000 ($239.5) after a loss in an online betting game.

According to the Times of India, six persons have been taken into custody by the police in relation to the incident.

The video also shows accused men trying to burn the hairof the boy. The barbaric act doesn’t stop there; the men then stripped him naked and tied a brick to his genitals.

The boy, whose name is not revealed, kept telling the men that he will return the money after he gets a job but the assault continued.

Both victim and accused were students at a coaching institute for competitive exams and staying at a hostel in the Kakadeo area of the Kanpur city, where the assault happened on April 20.

In the end of the video, victim was let go by a threat: Pay the money within two days or the videos will be shared online. He failed to arrange the money and the clips were then posted online by the accused, leading to their arrest.

The police took note of the video and arrested the men seen in the video. The men have been identified as Tanay Chaurasiya, Abhishek Verma, Yogesh Vishwakarma, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Har Govind Tiwari, and Shiva Tripathi, all from the Kakadeo police station area. They have admitted to the crime, the police said, adding they are trying to catch the other accused.

The victim is a resident of the Lavedi police station in the Etawah district, according to DCP (Central) RS Gautam.

After finishing his intermediate exam, he came to Kanpurand joined a coaching at Kakadeo to prepare for the NEET exam. The accused are also preparing for NEET, as per reports.
