The second phase of the urban body elections in Uttar Pradesh got underway on Sunday morning.
The polls are held for twenty-five districts on the second phase. Voters from 24 districts cast their votes in the first phase of the elections held on November 22.
The third and the last phase of the elections will be held on November 29. Twenty-six districts will vote during the last phase of the election.
The counting of votes will be held on December 1.
The urban body elections will be thefirst test forthe eight-month-old Yogi Adityanath's government.
Thefirst phase of urban body elections recorded a voter turnout of 52 per cent.
Congress bastion Amethi recorded the second highest voter turnout of 68.44 per cent while Adityanath's constituency Gorakhpur recorded the lowest poll percentage.
The highest polling percentage of69.59 per cent turnout in the first phase was recorded atHamirpur.
