The Modi government won the no-confidence by a voice vote today amid large-scale disruption in Parliament as PM Modi attacked the Congress and the Opposition for moving the no-trust move.

In the final count, there were 126 yes votes and 325 no votes with 451 members voting on the no-confidence motion. There were no abstentions as the BJP-led NDA defeated the no-confidence motion easily in the end.
During his 91-minute speech, the PM attacked Rahul Gandhi over his remarks on the Rafale deal, asserting that it was a deal struck between two responsible nations.
After 11 hours, the no-confidence vote was finally rejected as the Speaker Sumitra Mahajan accepted the voice vote and the ruling BJP sailed through.
PM Modi in his marathon speech took on the Congress point-by-point attacking dynastic politics, the Emergency, as he accused the Opposition of playing politics over unemployment and economic development.
Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi had opened fire on the NDA government over the Rafale deal, as other members joined the debate to attack the government's policy on Pakistan and surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army across the LoC in 2016.
The Congress president stole the limelight as he hugged the Indian prime minister and later winked at the camera, attracting attention on social media.
PM Modi's speech was disrupted twice by TDP MPs who stormed into the Well of the House as tempers ran high in Parliament over the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
'When TDP was leaving NDA, I called up Chandrababu Naidu, warned him that you are falling into YSR Congress's trap,' PM Modi said amid uproar in Lok Sabha, adding, "I want to tell the people of Andhra Pradesh that we will keep working for them. We will do everything possible for their development."
