BJP alliance partner Shiv Sena has decided to boycott the Parliament which was holding the discussion on the no-confidence motion.
The decision was announced just hours before the proceedings of the session began.
Shiv Sena MP Anandrao Adsul confirmed that the party will not take part in Parliament work today. "We are boycotting parliamentary work today and we have not even signed our attendance," he said.
A day before, it was reported that the Shiv Sena would vote against the no-confidence motion and that the party had issued whip to its MPs directing them to support the central government.
However, it was later clarified that no whip was issued to vote one way or another and the final decision was left on Party chief Uddhav Thackeray.
The Parliament is holding a discussion othe n no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government.
The motion was moved by BJP's former ally TDP on the first day of the monsoon session.
