Members of Congress' student wing National Students Union of India (NSUI) on Thursday (June 27) barged into the office of NTA in Delhi's Okhla demanding to disband the testing agency.

The NSUI members stormed inside the office raising 'shut down NTA' slogans.

There was no immediate reaction from NTA officials about the incident.

The footage shared by NSUI on social media showed National President Varun Chaudhary locking the Delhi office.

The members also issued a warning stating that if NTA is not banned, then the NSUI team would lock all the offices of the education body across the country.

"National President Shri Varun Chaudhary locked the Delhi office of NTA, a corrupt organization that is playing with the future of millions of students of the country, and demanded justice for students of all exams including NEET, NET, CUET. If NTA is not banned then we will lock all NTA offices across the country," NSUI said in a post on its official X handle.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) found itself in hot waters after students alleged irregularities in the medical entrance examination which was conducted on May 5 with around 2.4 million candidates taking part in it. 

This triggered several protests in the country where students demanded to disband the NTA.

The unexpected results of the exam showed 67 candidates achieving a perfect score of 720 which raised concerns among students.

President Murmu addresses NEET issue, says government will punish the guilty

Earlier today, President Droupadi Murmu while addressing a joint session of both Houses of Parliament, spoke about the irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

She said that the government is committed to investigating the paper leaks and the guilty in the matter will be punished.

"Sanctity and transparency are a must in government recruitments and examinations. The government is committed to conducting a fair investigation and ensure the most stringent punishment to those guilty in the recent incidents of paper leak," the president said and added that there is a need to move beyond "partisan politics" and adopt strong steps on this issue.
