A travel influencer from Mumbai, Aanvi Kamdar fell to death from a 300-foot gorge, Kumbhe waterfall, near Raigad, Maharashtra. The 27-year-old was recording a reel video for her Instagram while on an outing with seven friends when she slipped and fell into the gorge.

The incident happened on July 16 around 10:30 am, when it was raining heavily. The authorities reached the spot and Kamdar was pulled up after a six-hour rescue operation by the Kolad rescue team, the Coast Guard and Maharashtra State Electricity Board staff.

"As soon as we reached the spot, we realised that the girl has fallen nearly 300-350 feet. Even after reaching her, it was difficult to get her up, as she was injured and it was raining heavily. So we decided to get her out using a vertical pulley," a rescuer told NDTV.

After Kamdar was brought up, she was rushed to the Sub District Hospital of Mangaon where she died during treatment due to serious injuries from the fall, said the officials.

After the tragic incident, the authorities have urged tourists and locals to avoid any risky behaviour that may put ones life in danger and enjoy the scenic beauties responsibly.

Kamdar, a resident of Mumbai, was a chartered accountant. She gained popularity on social media by making travel reels and expressing her love for exploring destinations, especially during the monsoon beauty. With a following of almost 2,60,000, she regularly posted scenic videos from her trips and outings on her Instagram account.

In another shocking incident in Maharashtra, a woman died last month making a reel while driving. She was not adept at driving and accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brakes while reversing and the car fell from the valley in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
